OK, what are you supposed to be doing instead of being in here?

Getting lost on the internet, (just one more click!!) is a great time killer.  I suppose I might be learning something worthwhile... or just interacting with fellow COBs...... I mean a social life is important during quarantine, right?

I should be preparing my next week's lectures, reviewing the chapters, grading last week's papers...... the dogs need walking.... tomorrow's uniforms are still in the dryer.....

so, tell me, what are you supposed to be doing? (snarky answers welcome)

Technically working on my thesis for my master's degree...

However, it's now up to 82 pages.  I've also written two chapters, revised a third and compiled my reference list all in one day.

So I don't feel too guilty about taking a break and logging on here for a bit.

I’m in an APRN program and I have a document open on my computer labeled “pathophysiology paper 2.”  It is blank.

I'm in a graduate program and can relate to this quite well.  Today, I actually made quite a bit of progress in my own program.

However, I don't take too much credit for today's progress as this is after 8 days of completing no classwork at all ??

82 pages? Good lord. What is the topic?

It may end up being published on the Internet when it is done, so won't go too into specifics, but has to do with preventing rehospitalizations

Mine was ESL nursing students; lots of articles about programs various schools tried, and almost none of them done in a research manner.

As I am retired I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing.??

However, just remembered, I have to put the christmas decorations into the attic.

I should be writing learning objectives for my MSN practicum, and I just can't bring myself to do it. I'll happily write papers and discussion boards until I drop, but for some reason this particular assignment is the most unappealing thing I've been asked to do for this degree.

Also, I've been avoiding packing an overnight bag for work for the past 6 years or so, and with all the snow in the forecast I'm afraid I'm finally going to need one this week. ? So I guess I should do that, but it feels like admitting defeat! (I know I need to get over it, I've been sooooo lucky throughout my career.)

You do know that by being prepared you practically ensure you won't need that bag-but if you don't have it snowpocalypse will come in out of nowhere ?  Seriously, hope you won't need it.

I should be working on orders that I have in my side hustle.  But I just can't get motivated ?

I currently consider the internet to be a mind vacuum!

Being unmotivated to write learning objectives is something I can relate to.  For 6 out of 8 of my own MSN classes, I had to write them myself.  The assignment itself wasn't very challenging, but wasn't necessarily interesting either.  I actually found it to be pointless at times, because my learning goals would change throughout the semester anyway.  Or the opportunities that were actually available didn't match up with the goals I had established, so I would have to write and explain why certain goals weren't met.

Mushing up the two most vile rotten nasty bananas that in another minute will be unusable glop unfit even for banana bread and feeding eight beautiful koi which are giving me really mean looks. Yall go back behind the rocks because it's too cold out here for all of us.
