Sorry about yesterdayI didnt mean to make everyone upset but I was angry and frusterated and sometimes I get bipolar. Im not making it up my teacher is mean tho. I was exagerating when I said "40 times" about the phone I dont know how much but I know it wasent that many.
Anyhoo, I see everyones was sayin the phone is my "problem" but I think my teacher is old an dosent realize our generation GREW UP with technology so we can multitask just fine. Im payin attention in class an Im also writing notes an everyone else dose it too. My sister and I are real close so we stay in touch but it dosent affect my attention. Im doing A's in my other classes.
OK so I messed up yesterday an Im sorry I made everyone upset. Also I wont mess with my phone in class sence you all say its disrespecful. I emailed my teacher about her office times coz im in class all the time an she said I could see her when she eats lunch in the office. I will try t do that tomorrow when I go there.
Thanx everyone and sorry.
I have this girl in one of my classes who is texting from the time she get in class and until the time she leaves. She sit right beside me. I want to ask her can she stop texting for at least 50 min. Hell most days we are only in there for 20 to 30 min instead of the whold 50 min. It is very distracting. She does not even try to be discreet about it either.
Yep, this too. The only time I ate in class was in nursing school and only when we were in class the entire day and our instructors told us to go grab a bite or bring snacks.i thnk eating in class is wrong too.....esp like a whole meal....burger,fries and drink.....if i were up talking i would not like it....guess i just grew up in a different generation....

I didn't read all the responses, so sorry if I'm repeating what others may have said.
First, texting isn't just impacting YOUR ability to concentrate, it's a distraction for those around you and the teacher. Have you ever spoken in a classroom or lecture hall? It's amazing what you see from up there. You see people with their eyes half closed, others reading magazines, some rolling their eyes, and others doing distracting things (like texting). Most of those things impact the person's ability to learn, but things that draw other's attention are especially not acceptable. The person texting isn't aware that the person slightly behind or off to the side is glancing over, reading the texts--not because they're snooping, but because they're curious and it IS a distraction. I sat behind a guy who played games on his laptop in law school. It was hard for me NOT to watch his stupid games, in spite of the fact I tried not to. (Predictably, he wasn't back in school for L2.) Have you ever been in a restaurant where the TV is on? No matter how you try, you can't stop yourself from glancing at it... or watching it.
The other point about distractions is that school is not just information for the workplace, it's practice for workplace behaviors. When you're employed, your employer is buying your skill and efforts for the 40 hours they pay you. You won't get away with texting, calling, reading, sleeping, filing your nails or doing yoga while you're working. Might as well get used to it now.
