OIG Exclusions List + affect on nurses ability work

Could any of you explain how it is that a RN gets put on the OIG list and what this entails. I am just curious as to what I may be facing. I am right now in the investigation process and holding my breath. I did not divert meds however I quit my job after I got a DUI and possession, I self reported myself. I am holding my breath but trying to breath. I have been able to maintain my sobriety with the help of God, great sponsor and 12step group which is anonymous. Thanks for any information.

It's been longer than 5 years. I just got reinstated with the BON and went and found a job. Then boom í ½í²¥ I get hit with this list. I didn't even work two weeks before I was informed of this exclusion list. I'm afraid to list this job as an employer but I'm afraid not too. I've been thru so much already. I just want to work and get back to nursing. It's the only job I know how to do.

They just sent me an application for removal but I'm scared to fill it out now í ½í¸­. I'm so tired of fighting

Fill it out and send it in. It's not a difficult process. I was off the list within 30 days.

Also, they only update the list online one time per month.

I was lucky I guess the the first and only job I applied to in a rehab facility hired me. The DON is a wonderful soul who knows ever deserves a second chance. Where do u live?
