OHSU 3 Year BSN, 2019 Fall Start!!!

Published

It was the last day to do it, but I OFFICIALLY SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION TO OHSU!!!! ?

Anyone else applying for this cohort?

A little about me: I am an older, non-traditional student, single Mama with 8 and 13 year old boys! I currently hold a BA in Psych. I wanted to apply to the ABSN, however, my Statistics class is over 7 years old, and it was also a C. ? I will just have to retake it, if I end up needing to apply next year. This is also my very first application cycle. ?

I feel like OHSU is definitely my top choice, but I will also be applying to Linfield, and possibly Concordia (only because they have an accelerated program, and seem to offer more start dates.

Now the waiting begins!!!! ? ?

I applied.

10,000+ hours of healthcare experience. (EMT for 8 years)

All prerequisites are completed.

Also have chemistry done.

Will have my Bachelors in public health at the end of the summer.

140+ hours of volunteering at OHSU and giving lectures to the School of Nursing + School of Medicine.

GPA: 3.5 :(

notifications will go out sometime in March. Interviews are in April.

I've applied to OHSU, PCC and CCC

3.91 prereq-GPA (don't take summer A&P courses kids), and have multiple Chem Classes from a previous bachelor's attempt (unfinished, ended up with a 1.91 gpa *barf*)

Sitting here at work as a CNA at OHSU and biting my nails. only 4 more weeks to wait...

Good luck to all! Can't wait to meet ya in whatever capacity it happens to be in!

The accelerated A&P during summer is the worst! I ended up retaking them. I’d only doing the summer ones if you had already taken them, and are going for a better grade. One class in 4 weeks is brutal.

How long have you been a CNA at OHSU? Do you have your CNA 1 or CNA 2?

Oregon requires Hospital CNAs to be CNA2. I've been here for a little over a year, just managing to pass the 2000 hour cap for experience. Skin of my teeth!

Did anyone get an e-mail being invited to the MOCK interview for the Monmouth campus?

FYI, actual interviews for Ashland's 3 Year OCNE program are going to be April 5th and 6th. Probably hear if you're invited to interview mid-month.

Thank you. Do you what type of interview it will be and the types of questions they ask?

Interviews were a round robin where you have a short time with several interviewers in sequence, followed by or proceeded by writing an essay (depending on what group you were placed in). Not sure if the interview process has changed in the last couple years.

Question content changes each year but are generally focused on assessing qualities of the candidate congruent with the nursing code of ethics.

anyone apply to the le grande campus?
