OHSU 3 Year BSN, 2019 Fall Start!!!

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

It was the last day to do it, but I OFFICIALLY SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION TO OHSU!!!! ?

Anyone else applying for this cohort?

A little about me: I am an older, non-traditional student, single Mama with 8 and 13 year old boys! I currently hold a BA in Psych. I wanted to apply to the ABSN, however, my Statistics class is over 7 years old, and it was also a C. ? I will just have to retake it, if I end up needing to apply next year. This is also my very first application cycle. ?

I feel like OHSU is definitely my top choice, but I will also be applying to Linfield, and possibly Concordia (only because they have an accelerated program, and seem to offer more start dates.

Now the waiting begins!!!! ? ?

I will be accepting. I know there were at least 4 people out of the 15 in my interview session were interested in other schools if they were accepted to multiple places besides ohsu.

Ive been accepted to Portland as well. Congratulations to all of you who will start fall term, I look forward to meeting you all! For those who did not get in this year--dont give up. This is my second time interviewing with them so I can attest to that. If nursing is what you want and you know OHSU is the school to help you obtain it, then it will happen. Perseverance is key.

Congrats, @Lex18! So exciting. Were you placed on the alternate list last year?

Got my info packet in the mail today. Basically send a deposit and then you get the compliance info and added to a fb group so that is neat.

Does the packet say what type of lap top is recommended? Mine is dying and I need to get a new one sooner than later ???‍♀️

It just links to their website's technology section. If you search "OHSU school of nursing laptop" it will go to their technology page and give all the minimum specs. Basically they are a windows campus and most minimum laptops will be fine, but not things like tablets. Also anyone with a Mac has to be prepared to find a windoes computer to use in case a necessary program doesn't work properly.

They recommend Windows based systems, but plenty of people in my cohort used Macs. I'd recommend one with a dependable battery that can hold charge for a long time. We often used laptops in areas where there was a lack of outlets and needed them frequently.

Oh wonderful!

For those accepted, when do you have to send in your acceptance/deposit? I was wait listed as highly likely and am wondering when they will start offering alternates the open spots. Thanks in advance ?
