Hello everyone. Since emails have gone out to respective admitted and alternate students at OHSU PDX for the fall 2018 cohort, I thought I would create a discussion for any admits and alternates/waitlistees to attempt to keep track of the students who go from alternate to accepted, people who plan to accept or decline their spot at OHSU, PCC or any other regional programs, etc. Feel free to post your alternate designation if you would like and any other schools you may be or are already accepted to as well. If you were fortunate enough to make it this far, be proud of your accomplishments, you are one in a million. Or maybe just one in 450, it is a matter of perspective :) . May good news reach you all in the coming weeks and months!
I hear ya. I applied to OHSU and didn't get in also. I cried for a day lol.I'm old (well 36) and I would have died if I didn't get into any program and had to wait another year. Ha
I'm right there with you, I am 32 lol. Don't you have a BS degree? That is what I am finishing up at PSU if I don't start a program this fall. Won't take long at all. I'll only apply to accelerated BS and MS/FNP programs if not accepted this year and I may even apply to some out of state programs if that is what is needed to make it happen. I can't spend 3 more years in full time college student and only come out with a BS degree, especially if that 3 years doesn't start until fall 2019! I am cool with fall 2018 obviously but it's just too much time and money to me once late 2019 rolls around. I want to cut out as much time as possible, get my license, my degree, and get working. There was a girl in one of my A&P classes who had a BS degree and a 3.3 (I think) cumulative GPA and got in to Johns Hopkins MSN program apparently, I was like whaaaaaaat?!?!?!?!?!?!
Yup I have a BS in Community Health Education from PSU. I really wanted to get into the FNP program But odds of that are slim to none.
What the crap! Crazy she got into John Hopkins with that GPA.
What's your GPA and points at PCC? I'm sure you will get in. We have less then a week until we gets news from PCC! Whoop whoop.

Yeah they do not take many students for those programs. If I need to, I'll apply for other graduate programs around the country that are a bit easier to get into. Sooo I believe my cumulative GPA for PCC was 3.9 and my science GPA was 4.0. At OHSU it was 4.0 across the board because they accepted one class that PCC didn't so I had to use a B in one of the classes from ages ago. As far as points go, I think I had 60 or 61 all together. Even if someone were an alternate at PCC, the admitted students and even the other alternates may have already received offers from other schools by now so I would think PCC will end up going through a lot of their alternate list. I believe I know 4 people accepted at OHSU and they also applied to PCC but all 4 are accepting their OHSU spots. Why else would they invite 160-200 people to the essay if they only have 40 seats? I guess we will find out soon enough!
