OHSU Monmouth 2014

Hi there! I just found out today that I will be joining the Fall 2014 OHSU-Monmouth cohort! I was hoping to connect with other people that are starting in the fall as well. I will be commuting from Brownsville.

I am so excited!

Where else have you applied to? Is this your first time applying? Will you be accepting the offer to attend?

@efda2rn No problem, I won't stalk your guys thread all summer it is just part of my job to help with transition the incoming class...you'll learn more about our mentor program and what not at orientation as well!

The book list will come with the packet I believe but I can tell you that the first 2 terms you are buying a lot of books. Once you have them you use the same books for all three years so after the first two terms you only buy 1 or 2 more through the whole program. It helps to plan accordingly with financial aide. They dont want to give you everything right away because it is so important that you relax this summer, and enjoy time with your friends and family. The first year isnt overwhelming but it is a large time commitment and that can burn a lot of students out.

My little piece of advice is to enjoy this summer and be super excited about what is coming in the fall it is a huge accomplishment! There is really no way you can prepare by studying, if the schedule (which you will get in the packet) is the same the first class you take is not anatomy or biology based and isn't really anything you can prepare for it based off of your prereqs, so soak up some sun!
