Hi, first post because I cannot find that much information about this!
Apps recently opened to OHSU's BSN program. I haven't decided if I want to apply to Ashland or Monmouth - I am currently in California (don't hate me Oregonians) but most of my family live close to those two campuses.
Anyone else start their application for OHSU yet?
Also - Any tips for essay question responses? I have a 3.9 GPA in the prereqs and overall, finished all prereqs, and have 4000+ hours of healthcare experience as a medical assistant, but I feel like I still might screw it up if I flub those responses.
Yeah this was was for the Klamath falls campus. Apparently their wait list is not as big, so they don't even give us "ranks" of how likely we are. I emailed OHSU and this was their response.
"we actually did not rank OIT campus alternates like we did the other campus alternates! I believe this is because there are not as many alternates on the OIT list as the other campuses. Otherwise, we would have been able to share this information with you. We don’t have access to your placement on the list or the amount of students on that list, but again, I can say that it’s not as large a list as the other campuses."
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!! I’m a slightly likely alternate at Ashland’s campus. I emailed OHSU to try to get some more info but like everyone else didn’t get very far! They said I could still get in, but I literally have no idea how big the list is or how often people with that status end up being accepted. While I’m not feeling very hopeful, anyone have an idea on how far they typically dip into alternates?

Do you mind telling me your qualifications? GPA, Experience, ect. With only 64 interviews this year, I’m shocked about some of the results. Would love to compare notes with you.

How did you find out how many interviews your campus did? They wouldn’t tell me for the Klamath falls campus

I have a 3.87 GPA, and I’ve been a CNA for about 8 months. My stats have been better/the same to applicants who were accepted and I thought my interview went well. I also meet the criteria to be economically disadvantaged, first generation college student, I went to SOU, got an A in Chemistry, lots of volunteer hours, etc.

Girl (I assume), we have the same stats, almost exactly! The only difference is I’m not economically disadvantaged, based on my parents income. I was on the same alternate list as well. Every other thing you mentioned was exactly the same, down to first generation college student & an A in Chem. I’m going to get my CNA2 this Summer and work for another year in the hospital, because my interview went so smoothly that I truly don’t know what I could do better other than that.
I think it depends on different factors. I have worked as a cna1/2 for almost 3 years and I have a 3.8 GPA. I believe ohsu is VERY competitive so the fact that we made it this far is a good thing! Although I know we all want to get accepted and being an alternate is not the best news, we made it this far do not give up!
Does anyone know how many interviews the portland campus did? Or when the deadline is to accept a spot in the program? I assume after that deadline they will begin to call alternates if anyone declines a spot. Or how many alternates are on each "level" of highly likely, moderate, etc.
For those of you which applied to OIT/Klamath Campus & are on the alternative list:
My decision email contained these phrases. I would like to know if your emails said the same thing or if they worded them differently. This may give us an idea of how likely we are to get in/what ranking we are in the group.
"recognizes your strong academic potential and fit for our 3 year Bachelors of Science. . ."
"we are not able to accept all of our top applicants due to the limited number of available seats."
I'd appreciate your guys input!

Hi, I do not know how many people they invited for the final interviews, but the deadline to accept a spot is June 15th!

Was this regarding a specific campus? They wouldn’t give me any information on the size for the waitlist for the Portland campus. I’m somewhat likely.
