OHSU ABSN/DNP 2023

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to OHSU's ABSN/DNP 2023 program.

Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

I received an acceptance email for the fall 2023 ABSN cohort!  I applied on a bit of a whim, as I didn't have all of my prerequisites completed. As much as I'd love to go asap, I don't think I can swing a fall start date. Does anyone have experience with accepting a spot but deferring to the next cycle? Thanks!

I got my acceptance email last night for the Portland campus, anyone else in the Winter 2024 cohort? Low key not upset about having a bit of a break before I start!

Hi Everyone!

I received my acceptance letter to the Ashland ABSN to DNP (PMHNP) 2023 Summer Term on Tuesday! Just found this thread- has anyone else received their acceptance to either the Ashland ABSN or DNP dual track yet?

I'd love to start connecting with future peers. I'll be moving out to Ashland from CA, and will need to figure out housing soon too. If you're also moving into the area, let's connect, maybe we'd be great housemates!  

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far! 

To those of you who were not accepted this time around - don't give up! It'll happen! Keep applying to subsequent terms and other programs - persistence is key!

How many more prerequisite do you need? Maybe you'll be able to finish them before then. I'm not sure whether or not OHSU does derrals when it comes to incomplete prerequisite; however, it's worth it to ask!

Hi! Wow, getting accepted after applying on a whim - good for you! I'm interested in what you find out so please share, I got accepted and placed into the Winter 2024 cohort and would consider starting in Fall if given the chance. I wonder if they would just move people off the waitlist if you deferred or if they'd ask those placed in other cohorts if they'd prefer to change their start date? 

Again, congrats to everyone - the application process was intense and we should I be proud no matter what!

"Whim" was not the best word to use! I wasn't sure how outstanding prerequisites would count against me, so I applied anyway just in case. I can technically finish them before fall, but between childcare and financing, a bit more time would just make life a lot smoother for our family. I'm going to check in with an advisor to see what my options are. Either bust a move for this fall, or if they won't save a space next admissions cycle I can apply again.

Hey there! I am semi local to the area, I live in a small town in California about 35 minutes from campus.
