Ohlone College FALL/Spring 2021/2022

Published

Hello everyone! I know it's early before our applications need to be submitted, but I wanted to go ahead and create this early on to support and encourage one another/check in during this coming application cycle. I know this year may be a little more difficult because of COVID (since CSU East Bay cancelled their applications) = potentially more competition.

I haven't taken my TEAS yet... but I'm estimating my points applying to Ohlone will be 87 points. Do you think this will be enough to make the cut?

Thanks in advance!

Yes I received it. Heads up to alternates if they offer you a spot, you MUST PRESENT your full 2 dose COVID vaccination at time of accepting your spot in the intent to enroll. If you’re not vaccinated, you won’t be considered to secure your spot and they go down list. They can’t place you for clinical despite medical or religious reasons for exceptions because the hospitals aren’t allowing it, not so much ohlone.

this is very good to know, thank you for letting us know. When do you think they will start going down that list? Is there a must respond date on the letter?

I just noticed that you previously mentioned you were number 23 on the waitlist so that's good news they are moving down the list.

I wish they would have let us know about the vaccinations ahead of time so we could have decided and scheduled properly. I wonder if we only have our first shot (with the second scheduled) if they will still decline us. You were on the accepted list correct? I think the other girl that received a letter was on the waitlist so they be working their way down already. ahhh

Definitely. So much lack of communication. From the start they should’ve communicated the whole vaccination situation. Since it starts Spring, maybe they will allow but I’d assume they want people ready to go to begin the on boarding of background checks, your physical/ vaccination records uploaded. 1) I would email to see 2) I would decide now about vaccination today and schedule ASAP or opt for J&J too to be done.

im definitely worried now LOL. I would hate to miss out on my spot because of this (if I even get an email LOL) but wouldn't want to risk it. Im emailing them right now but I highly doubt ill get a response in a quick manner. Thank you for letting us know, very helpful!

Could we build a facebook group?

Has anyone on the waitlist heard anything?

Hi guys. I'm on the waitlist. After replying to the Intent to Enroll letter, I got the Spring 2022 Nursing Acceptance Packet which is basically all the requirements before starting the RN program. You will need to pay for a background check, drug screen, and immunization tracking which is around $128. You have to get some other vaccines if you haven't got them yet such as MMR, Tdap, Varicella, etc.

I’m right behind you at #29.. hope to hear something soon. ahh

Hi,

If you took the TEAS at Ohlone College virtually, the college already had your transcript. Hope the information is helpful.
