Hey! I was hoping to start a thread consisting of summer 2017 applicants to Ohio State's Graduate Entry program. I just finalized my application and submitted last Friday! Well before the deadline in October so I'm hoping that helps. I guess you can say I'm an overly proactive type of person lol. Blessing and a curse. But I've completed all pre-reqs except Microbiology..... which I'm in right now until December. My GPA isn't strong at all 3.2. I'll be taking the GRE in September so I'm pretty much dedicating a lot of my time to studying for that...
Anyways, I hope to meet more people who applied/will apply this year for next summer :)
Mine is still showing pending as well. This is making me sick to my stomach & now I'm checking almost every 1/2 hour!! I am so sorry to those who didn't get in. What programs had you applied for?
Checking every hour it seems..I applied for Women's Health and still pending. Anyone else apply for WHNP or CNM? I believe the same faculty members review those applications.
I would take it as a good sign if yours still says pending. I had applied for FNP, probably one of the most competitive specialties. I guess it's time for plan B, though! I'm going to apply to the ABSN program at Capital and a few others. I will consider applying to OSU again next year, but I really want to get school started sooner rather than later.
moroccan1994, I do not know the reason yet. I'm wondering if it is because I did not have one of the prereqs completed yet or something else. I almost hope it's that because I had felt pretty good about my personal statement.
Have you considered applying to other similar programs? Case Western accepts applications until April and it is the same style program except you do not have to choose a speciality upon application, you get to choose further into the program. It's 3.5 years in length, though more expensive than others. Also, UC accepts apps until Feb. 1st I believe. Unless you are rooted in Columbus, there is Capital for ABSN and Mount Carmel ABSN.
I applied for PMHNP. When I was on the phone I was told that most of the denials are going out today. So all of you who say "pending" probably have a really good shot of getting in! I thankfully have two backup schools (one already accepted to and one I'm still waiting on to see if I'm accepted). I really liked OSU, but everything happens for a reason. Good luck to everyone else still waiting! :)
Mine still sends pending as well. I am so nervous as I applied for the FNP speciality. I did have all my prerequistes complete, however.
Also, I am so sorry for those who received denials today. I've been rejected by the CON before for the BSN program so I understand how it feels. I noticed on previous threads that those who applied again the second year after their first rejection did seem to get acceptances. There are also so many great nursing programs here in Ohio from Capitol to Cinncy to Case. Keep your heads up. I felt so bad and didn't know what to do after I did not get admitted to the BSN program as a freshmen but I already have one grad nursing school acceptance at Case now and hoping for one at OSU. If you have a drive and a passion for it, you can do it! This is only the beginning for you guys :)
Congrats! Lol not to be creepy @katosu but I've seen your username on the Columbia MDE/DNP thread too so it looks like we applied to 3 of the same schools! And we are both graduating seniors at OSU currently! It's great to have someone else that is going through the same nervewracking process honestly lol. I know I'm not the only nervous wreck haha. Hopefully OSU gives us good news as well :)
Haha omg that's funny! I'm the same way on these sites. Good luck though with all of the schools you applied to!! :) And with making it through spring semester lol.
