Home Health Care Kettering for STNA?

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

I am looking for a good home health care company in the Kettering, Ohio area. I am currently working at a LTCF in the north part of Dayton, but it is too much of a drive considering the $$$!

If anyone is working with a good home health care company now, that might be willing to throw me a lead, I would greatly appreciate it. I am state-tested and will be entering a RN program soon.

I would be looking for either part time or PRN status.

Thanks to any helpful response!:)

Thanks for the reply! I will look into your suggestion.

I worked with Fidelity Health Care for about 6 months and I found them to be a really good employer. You have to do a week-long orientation with them, but you pick an area (around where you live) and they do their best to provide you with patients in that area, although there will be times you have to travel. I live in Fairborn and I think the farthest I had to go was a few trips to Miamisburg and New Carlisle.

I also did home health and nursing assistant stuff at Bethany Village in Centerville, which is toward your neck of the woods also. My coworkers on the nursing home unit left much to be desired, but I was relatively happy doing home health in the independent and assisted living areas of the facility. If you want contact people for either agency let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Thanks Megd! I'd really be interested in any contacts you might have for either company. My current schedule only allows me weekends, since I have two children I watch through the week. I actually talked to Bethany Village about a month ago, but my weekly schedule made it very difficult for us to work out a schedule that would work. (?Beth? I beleive was her name... was looking for first shift full time staus.) I have since decided to attempt weekend work(and maybe a few nights a week). I haven't tried to contact them since, and anyone you might know would be helpful. I'd prefer to stay away from an actual "nursing home" setting, that's why I was thinking about home health care. Assisted living at Bethany would not be too bad(I'm thinking, but maybe harder to find an open spot?).

-Thanks for your reply, very helpful! :D
