Ohio Board, Kentucky Board

Nurses Recovery

I am not sure what it going to happen to my Ohio Nursing license, I am under review for taking narcotics, my question is, does anyone know if my Ohio license gets suspended will Kentucky do the same? Or is it possible to enter Kentucky's KARE program and just let the Ohio license stay is suspension? I have already been through a program with the Ohio Board 8 years ago, I have now relapsed and trying to figure out options and pick up the pieces of my life.

I am on Probation in CA for 3 years but want to move to KY. Do you think they will let me do my probation in KY or the care program? Or were you licensed already in both Ohio and Ky?

You might try calling KY BON and ask them. In my experience, most Boards of Nursing are hesitant to issue a license unless Probation is completed in the previous state.

I was already licensed in both states, and Kentucky is my home state...not sure, I would just call the Kentucky Board anonymously and ask.

I was just wanting to touch base and see how your experience is going currently with the KARE program and KBN...? I have a complaint against my license now from alcohol r/t call offs. I am not sure if it is something I should try to fight or just move forward with KARE. Any advice would be appreciated.

Find a lawyer who specializes in arguing cases before the Board of Nursing/licensure litigation. Do that before going forward with KARE.

My experience with KARE and KBN has been nothing but professional, pleasant, and positive. I just finished year 1 of 5 and it's going great. I have no restrictions on my nursing license in KY, but my felony is still hanging out there for a little while longer, so I am currently not working (by choice) and pursuing some other areas in my life. I would highly recommend the KBN, they are very nurse friendly, highly reasonable. As far as Ohio, I am currently still suspended with them, will be able to reinstate in 2019, and will have permanent restrictions on that license. Ohio has been fine, no issues there either. My best advice, be PROACTIVE in this process, be brave, and take the plunge, don't wait around for the inevitable!
