Hi Suzanne4 and others, I am very sad coz I just received my mail today-18th day to be exact...I did not pass at 75 -my first time. I did your tips, studied /researched a bit on some drugs/other important topics and practised cd questions. I am in my late 30's and retaining infos takes time for me than when I was younger,hehe.... Any suggestions for me please on how long / what i shoud study again??? Yes , I intend to reapply again next week --Im not the type who dwells too long on setbacks. But I still need upliftment and some great tips from anyone willing to share their wisdom and knowledge on how I should approach this challenge the second time around.
This site is so helpful- it gives me the boost when I need it most in times like this. Gee, I need to set up a new study schedule again. To a working separated mother like me--its kinda hard to balance work, family and studies. I took B.S.Nursing as a second course and is a registered nurse here in my country two years ago. But I work in a bank at present since the pay here is sufficient to sustain me and my two kids though. Words of encouragement, study tips/books to read, suggestions from anyone is highly appreciated. Thank you everyone.

give yourself a few days to get over the upset and then start again. Did you get any feedback on how you did in the various categories. I remember I did when I failed. That can give you an idea on where to concentrate but also have you concidered doing Suzanne's plan. If not have a look. Also plenty of threads with ideas on what to do next. You will need to reapply to the BON and again with pearsonvue but I would wait for pearsonvue until you are ready.
Good luck and don't give up

Hi, Don't feel bad, it is a hard test and you WILL pass it :-)
Now you know what the test is like!! Think positive.
The NCSBN website http://www.learningext.com/ helped me study, Its an online subscription, Not too expensive at all.
Also this book; Kaplan NCLEX-RN Exam, 2007 Edition with CD-ROM.
The book is not a review. It has test taking tips and a 2 practice tests (one in the book, one on the CD).
There is a chapter with tips for people who have failed the exam.
I just took the test 7-30 and passed at 260 questions.
Good luck to you !!! :-) You can do it

Thanks a million for all your encouragement.
Yes I am still collecting my thoughts on what steps to do next after my first attempt. I might try enrolling in the ncsbn and reread the saunders comprehensive book to start with. Gee, I hope I will make it on my second try , cant help being anxious as usual.

I did not pass the first time either, it really is a hard test especially since I am a foreign graduate as well.
What has finally helped me was I concentrated on each of the question and that I have set my mind that I have all the time in the world (even if the time limit is 5 hrs, because even if you run out of time the computer will still grade you according to level of difficulty of questions, right?) because that way I didn't hurry and was finally able to pass the NCLEX- RN after so many tries...lol 5 to be exact...lol, yes I went through remedial/refresher course. The last try I waited for 2 yrs before I took it, don't do the same thing I did, don't wait that long, ok? The day before test don't open any book about NCLEX, just relax.
And 1 more thing I did, being Christian, I told my family, friends & co-worker the day when I was gonna take the NCLEX and asked them for prayers and I also prayed, "Lord, ur name will be put to shame if I don't pass this test because they know I put my trust in You." Yep, I said that prayer
Good thing you only have to wait 45 days before u can re-take, before you had to wait for 90 days.
You can do it!!
Each BON has their own requirement on time you have to wait between re sitting but all the information will be on their website. If you have any problems let me know and I will see if I can find it for you

Kaplan + Saunders = Passing @ 75
I bought the book from the national which costs around 900 pesos. i read it 3 times. Kaplan will teach how the question is being made, so that when you take a review you know how to study.
Saunders for practicing analysis type questions which are the passing questions in nclex, and you want the computer to stay on analysis type of question which means you are in the passing level.
Goodluck..
