Hi, I'm a nursing student. You know what, I was recently hired as a student extern. I was so excited to go home from work today and get some sleep because I had a hard time sleeping the night before. Anyways, I think I forgot to clock out. I know I clocked-in. But I can't even remember if I clocked out. I probably didn't clock out. I just don't remember. Maybe I did, but I don't remember.
My question is, What happens if I don't clock out? I only work for 8 hours every shift, twice a week. And I just read the policies regarding clocking in and clocking out at the facility I work in. And it said I need to complete a payroll correction form and have the manager/supervisor sign it on the same day that I forgot to clock out (I think that's what it says or maybe there's more to it.) What do I do about it?
Well Saturday is my last day at that facility because I just got hired at a hospital that is so much closer to my apt. Hopefully I get paid for that day that I forgot to clock out.

Most places have a form you can manually fill out your hours if you forgot to clock in. Call the facility and ask them what you should do.
Good luck in your new job!
I forget to clock out all the time.

I do it all the time. I always call my supervisor and he fills out a form for the payroll.

Ah, Monday mornings of the week of payday. . .what memories! You see, I was a nurse manager. This is a very common thing--people forgetting to clock out. You'll get paid. The problem for most employers is if the employee says they had overtime. There really is no way to verify it without someone at a supervision level or above who actually knew you left at the time you say you did. Unless someone wants to be really, really nasty you'll get paid. If they try to deny your pay (which I doubt will happen) call the Labor Board in your state immediately and find out how to file to get your money. Believe me, your employer will act very fast if the Labor Board gets after them.

Our manager just goes in a do it manually. Since we clock in on the phone, she gets a sheet weekly with our time and she can just make corrections at the bottom. Every job knows there are potential for mistakes.
