dont give up!.. if you are reading the kaplan course book its nice to have or if you are reading other materials its good too! as long u really understand the concept so when you answer the questions on actual exam its more easy to answer.just try to answer 100 questions per day. take breaks if u cant focus anymore.

2 days before your exam don't read , don't review anymore ,just relax, condition your mind,& save your energy for your exam day. don't bring reviewers , go there 1 hr before your scheduled time, when ur already sitting on the chair take a deep breathe, calm yourself, & dont answer right away if u r still nervous. you have to calm down first before answering the questions because if you are still nervous you will be out of focus and u cant concentrate anymore & make sure put your ear plugs. you can do it! just pray , believe in yourself and trust in GOD!

hey Margarita, do u really mean that the kaplan course book do help u?

Be Positive! 15 days is a long way to go, repeat the questions and sink in the rationales :)

Don't let these scores pull you down. Instead take this as a challenge. Evaluate your study habits and see what works for you. Time management is very crucial and see to it that you have time to rest. Margarita is right and I recommend you to do that. Kaplan is really good, focus on test taking strategies which I think is very important and will help you a lot in nailing the NCLEX. You also have to read more, everytime you get wrong answers, research for answers. Focus on your weakness and work on improvements. I know this is very overwhelming but you have to do your best in order to pass. Think positive and remind yourself everyday that this time you will beat all the odds and succeed.

I only have two weeks to study for my exam so I made a study plan. Since I have a six year old and 6 months pregnant and I do work part time. I sacrificed some things in order for me to have more time to study. I deprived myself from any luxuries like going out or watching tv. I told myself that this is only two weeks and I should give my all. I woke up early morning and read my books ( I pay more attention to understanding the patho of each disease to understand what is wrong and what should be done) then review my notes of values and important nursing concepts and Kaplan's test taking strategies. After this I familiarize myself with medications. Then I go back to being a mom and wife. I have flashcards which I use everytime I have the time like while doing the laundry or fixing dinner. I take advantage of the little time I have. After working, I do the chores at home and see to it that everything my baby and husband needs are taken care of. Then I do practice exams (150 questions everyday) from 9pm till 1am. (pay attention to rationale!) A day before my exam, I never read any books and just relax for the whole day. This study plan and time management works really well for me. I passed my NCLEX and officially a Registered Nurse =).

PS

These are the books I used

Medical surgical Nursing by Lippincott (this comes with a practice test cd which is very, very good) luv this book!

Saunders ( very complicated but I read it anyways)

Mosby's Illustrated Study Guide for NCLEX-RN by ZERWech (this book is very easy to understand, the illustrations helped a lot)

Mosby's NCLEX RN flashcards.

thank you azalea04.. very very nice post and advice.. before im going to take my exam, i'll be reading your post again.. you're now officially one of my inspirations.. your post makes me wanna study more and prove to everybody that yes i can do this... thank you

You may benefit from taking a day off and relaxing and then study again. Would probably suggest practising questions and reading the rationale. Make sure you understand what the question is asking

Good luck

Don't worry yourself over nothing. I think you're doing great. I have a friend scoring 43% on kaplan but pass @ her first time with minimum question. Relax and have a positive thought..........."I can do it". Good luck!!

thank you so much you guys!!!
