I've never worked hospital as an LPN but assume that the patient load is like that for RNs depending on the specialty(4-7??) but the patients are of a higher acuity level. In my LTC experience, the patient load is 25-40 patients; some can be quite challenging; Major tasks include:meds/tx, phone orders, MD rounds, admits/discharges,supervising CNAs. I agree with nrsmelissa. The ability to prioritize is a MUST!
well guys thanks for the input/response guess i wouldnt have my priorities out of order since i have been a cna for 9 years and have watched both lpns and rn's work and learned early what i should and should not be doing. im just so anxious becuase my first day is tommorow (monday 5/29). i guess i will do the best i can do and use my natural caring abilities that led me to want to be a nurse in the first place..Thanks Guys:saint: :kiss
