Hi! I did not see a thread currently open for prospective students for ODU's Accelerated BSN program for Fall 2016. Does anyone plan on applying? I am thinking about applying, as the deadline is quickly approaching! Also, does anyone know how long it takes to hear back on an admissions decision?
I have no idea what it is based on I looked through posts from last year to get an idea of what the HESI and GPA's were and everyone says it's based on something different. We had to submit transcripts, but, they specifically requested that we also indicate our grades for all the pre-requisite courses on the application itself. I don't know if that's so they can see what's done or calculate a GPA based on pre-req's, or verify that we had a C or better in all pre-req's. TCC works on a point system; you get additional points for A's in the sciences, previous BS degrees, nursing certifications, etc. I would not be surprised if ODU and other programs use a similar process. I don't think anyone knows for sure how they make their final determinations...
Congrats on your AS! I think a lot of people underestimate community colleges. I have seen both sides and there was no difference in the quality of the courses. Best of luck as you finish up and in your future endeavors!

OMG! I'm excited. I will be looking out for the mail tomorrow!
I applied for the traditional route. I currently attend TCC and will be completing my associate of science degree this May. I had a 3.84 GPA and a score of 84.5% on Hesi when I applied. I am kinda nervous because my Hesi score is lower than those who are considered competitive applicants, who have typically scored around an 86%. I only studied for a day before I took the test, hence my low score
... I currently volunteer at Sentara. I hope my volunteer experience would help me get in!
Good luck to everyone, I hope we all get in!
