OCVTS Toms River 2011 Class

Published

Hello Everyone!

So is anyone here registered for the September 2011 class at Ocean County Votech for the LPN Program? I am, and I have to admit that I'm a little nervous. I've heard how difficult it is, but feel that if I'm dedicated and want it enough, there's no reason why I can't do it.

:nurse: Hello!! I will be starting the OCVTS LPN program September as well. I am so very nervous. I have been told that it is really tough and a "year of Hell''...lol yet I am looking forward to it. I am looking forward to the challenge

I know, I'm really excited! I've heard how tough it is, but I meet people all the time who are LPNs that went to this school and graduated, and they all have good-paying jobs now. So I just have it in my head that I HAVE to pass.

At this point I still have to do the drug testing, the interview, and apply for the loan, of course.

I am also starting in the fall. I am very nervous and excited also! I am just waiting to hear when my interview is which I'm also nervous about. I have no idea what they are going to ask!?

I had my interview a few months ago! It was a breeze. It was just typical questions like why do you want to be a nurse and tell me about yourself. They basically just want you to know how much hard work you are in for and make sure that you can handle it. The lady was so nice. I did my drug screening too. Now I am just waiting for the finance part. I believe they had said in August we would meet with finance department. It was funny when I was walking out from the interview a student nurse was walking out and she told me Don't do it!! Then she laughed. I asked her about it and she said it was just a lot of studying and hard work! YIKES!!!! So nervous!

Hi All,

I originally applied to OCVTS about 2 years ago and each year something always comes up where i am unable to start. I just got off the phone with one of the ladies there, she told me I have to reapply, take the test (if there are any more spots) and might (a big MIGHT) be possible to start in sept. I am also at OCC finished my prereqs last semester, took the TEAS (failed!:crying2:) I can take it again in March. If I pass it i go on the waiting list which is about a year & a half. Sooo I have to decide go for the LPN, put the RN program on hold right now then do the bridge later??? Sooo confused!:uhoh3:

FYI I had 2 friends that went through the program-one failed out, the other passed and is now working LTC making $26/hr. Its worse than the RN program since it is all crammed into 10 months or so. Good luck girls and maybe i will be joining you!

Oh no it cant be good when current students are warning us already!

I know. I am currently taking Anatomy & Physiology to get it out of the way and just this one class is so much work!! We have a long road ahead of us...lol:coollook:

Good day all......... Does anyone know if there are any more spots open in the sept 2011 class?

Did u take the entrance exam yet??? If u didn't you need to apply right away and you MIGHT have a chance to get in this sept...it really depends on bhow many spots that have already filled....hope this helps you! Good luck!

Donna, you would have to call and ask about that....

JNC,

I know, I'm hoping I don't have the same problem, I'm planning on starting this September, I need to leave my full-time job to do it though, that's what's making it hard.

I'm hoping I find a job real fast once I pass the licensing exam.
