Anyone going? Any tips for anyone who has attended to get the most out of it?

I have been lurking awhile, thinking about this change after 23 years as a nurse, the last decade in the area of Informatics. Looking forward to new challenges!

Thanks!

As far as bringing business cards to the VMI seminar, I too was wondering what to do. I knew you cannot use the CLNC, but I was not sure what to do.....So the LNC anyone can use... legal nurse consultant? correct?

I guess just your name with lnc with it and contact info... seems I am struggling a bit with if I want a company name, yet or website or whatever........ seems like a lot to think about

Thanks for the info

Hello, slugbug,

Yes, you may utilize the LNC after your name. RNs who are working as LNCs use this.

If you are considering self-employment, then you need to be thinking of a business name for later. If you are considering in-house work, you needn't worry with a business name.

You can have cards printed ...... use the LNC..... include contact info...leave off a business name.....for now. Just use the cards for networking purposes only while at the course.;)

Good luck.

hey there, i sort of wish i had planned to go, but i went the other way by taking the aalnc online courses for lnc. so far they have been just ok. i get the majority of my info from the text "legal nurse consulting, practices and principals" i figure as soon as i get closer to finishing the course i will take a marketing course for nurses which is a new one in my area in greenville, sc (one of my associates is teaching it). but i sure do enjoy vickie's enthusiasim. i just can't tell who is the primary authority on legal nursing yet. i guess we will know when we know. have a good day to all. nurscat

hello, nurscathwil,

i think you will be satisfied with the aalnc course. good luck with this.

Well we are here in Las Vegas. Today is Day Three of the Seminar. It is going well and it is a lot of work. I am studying a bit every night. I planned to write out more material last night but fell asleep with books all over my bed and the lights all on (got the lights shut off at 3 AM),

The course work is very interesting. Vickie is so serene, knowledgeable, and helpful. Everyone makes you feel at ease.

I am so glad I am here. I am doing my best to get the most out of it.

Thanks siri for all your support and knowledge shared so generously.

I am so surprised at how few cards I have seen at the conference. I am sure it will be different in Orlando next year.

Here's a funny story about my cards: I sent off for the business cards that said: I met you at the Las Vegas Seminar. Well, they, the printing company sent the wrong cards. So, I went to my local printer, waited several days, and his printer broke down....

Thank goodness I have a good computer/laptop, so printed them myself. Diligence.... they are not the nicest cards but I do have business cards that are pretty and well designed and well cut thanks to my daughter ;)

Good morning, Nightngale. Glad things are going so well at the course. Ouch about the cards but glad you were able to get some made. Many there don't think about networking with cards for they are just trying to survive the course.

Wishing you continued good luck.
