OCCC Traditional Fall 2022

Haven't seen a post for this yet but since applications are open I figured I'd start one! Anyone else trying to get in for this fall? How many points are you applying with?

Just talked with nursing admissions and they told me that they will send emails about their decision the first week of May!!!

Not technically “nursing school” related, but I finished my final exam for my general Chemistry class about an hour ago! Happy to say that after a challenging semester I finished the class with an A average. Only step left is to get accepted into nursing school! I just wanted to share the news with y’all cause IDK part of me feel like we are friends now?. 
 

Just a reminder to follow your dreams and passions in life. I started my first semester of college back in 2015 where my first semester of school I finished with a 1.09 GPA. Since then (and a few semesters after that), I took a break from school to refocus and improve on myself and figure out what was important to me and to set goals. I started school again three semesters ago, and have ended each of those semesters with 4.0 GPAs. Remember to celebrate your accomplishments thus far, and know that the things you want to achieve will come to you in due time. So regardless of what the results are next week of whether you get accepted, denied, or waitlisted be proud of yourself for getting this far into the process! That in itself is an accomplishment. I wish you all the best of luck, and can’t wait to hopefully sit beside you all in our first semester of nursing school!

Congrats on your A in Chemistry, and on totally rocking it your past few semesters! These nursing prerequisites, especially the science classes, are hard work. 

You will no doubt continue that success in nursing school. I hope we’ll be classmates! ?

Thank you! Officially done with all prereqs and coreqs except for history. I was really hoping today would be the day even though they said next week. I tried to keep a little faith!

I checked my email like a thousand times this week even knowing nothing would be there ??‍♀️?

Does anyone know if the subject of the email says if you have been accepted? I don’t want to look at my phone’s Lock Screen and immediately see. I need to give myself a second to breathe and mentally prepare before I open up the email?

That I don’t know! Maybe it will say something like “nursing application”

That’s awesome! I have a couple weeks left of Chemistry (totally envious that you’re finished ?) and Micro, which I’ll probably take next Summer. 
Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one obsessively checking my email knowing we have to wait until next week…ha

My guess is that it won’t say it in the subject, but it’ll probably be in the first line or two of the email. If your notifications give you a preview of the email, then it may spoil the surprise!

Ugh, you’re probably right! I’m turning the notifications off, but I’m counting on y’all to let me know when decisions come out.
