Did anyone else apply for the BADNAP program starting in June 2013? The requirements were loosened up a couple of weeks before the deadline, so I'm wondering how much interest there was?

Well now everyone has me wondering h. Many applications were turned in.. lol. I am still debating if I should spend another semester and a summer at OU taking more upper division science and graduate level courses to get in to the PA program... This is a nice option too. I guess I am going to call today and get somw numbers about the BADNAP program..

Let us know what you find out
Well I tried calling but the individual I am supposed to speak with was not available.. From previous sources and their information, they may not have had enough applicants to fill all the available spots.. My guess would be that if you have completed all the prereqs for this program, and have a decent GPA, (2.8+), then you will probably have a spot in the program. You never know though.....

I applied for the BADNAP 2013 program. I turned in my application on February 9th and there were only 40ish applications submitted at that time. I have read your posts for a few days and debated about being the bearer of not the best news. Not trying to be mean, actually just the opposite, not wanting to causes the stress and high anxiety about having to wait another yr./or a semester if not accepted. So here goes guys. 91 applications were accepted by the deadline.
I hope we will meet the first week of class and have a good chuckle about this and a Whew Wee moment (we are so blessed to be here) . Here's to our dreams and goals. Good Luck! Karen
@ Karen, the application deadline for the BADNAP program for Summer of 2013 was February 1st? Did you make a typo?

Have you thought about the NP program? I know there are very few differences between NPs and PAs. I originally wanted to become a PA too but then decided if I go through nursing school NP would be a better fit for me.

I was told the deadline was Feb. 1st?? Wth? Hopefully that was a typo. Since I have my pre's done, I hope that helps me cause my GPA isn't that great....I too spent most of my undergrad partying :/ guess ya only live once right? Lol
Yes, that was a typo. I applied in January not February. Sorry about that. I have been worrying about my GPA as well. I was not as focused and dedicated as I should have been during my undergrad years also. To bad some life experience can not be counted as well as the GPA. LOL!!
I actually have considered the NP route.. I mean, if I get my ADN, that at least puts me in a position to make some money while I get my BSN, then off to NP or CRNA school... Getting the ADN would definitely open up some doors... Rather than having a B.S. and hoping to get into PA school. I mean, I have taken lots of upper division science and lots of other sciences that are required for CRNA school... EX. Chem I and II, Physics I and II, Organic Chem, Virology, Immmunology... So yeah, Np or CRNA is an option.. :)
It would definitely be nice if life experience counted. lol... Well, I wonder how many of those applications turned in were complete in that the applications finished all the prereqs and were not in progress with any of them.... I guess we will all find out in less than a month....
NP def the way to go if you ever want to have your own practice! lol nursing school or not ill takr the, life experience any day....hopefully I get in though hahaha! So the for sure count is 91 huh? Dang wasn't expecting that, hell last year they had like 20 and the year before that wasnt many more! Hopefully they had so many more because they opened it up. Im just glad to have the teas test done and have a little break!
Maybe that guy was tired of having people ask him and decided to screw with people and give them some high number of applications.. lol.. You never know.. The TEAS test was not bad at all.. I mean, i have a bit more chemistry and anatomy under my belt that some.. but none of those questions were very hard. I didn't even study.. just went and took it.. The responsible thing would have been to study.. but yeah.. it didn't happen. lol. I have only had one friend go through the BADNAP program, and he said to get ready for some stress. lol. So we will see.
