WGU Not Passed
First, I was required to retake anatomy and physiology II... for no reason that I could ascertain. Second, I am in the military and was on orders over seas for a month. I had extremely limited internet access during that time. WGU would only allow me to have a one week extension on one class. It is the only program that I have seen that requires Biochem. The last that I can think of is personal. I have a mediocre GPA and need some A's to help me get into grad school. A "3.0" is not at all helpful to me.

WGU Not Passed
WGU has been one of my worst academic decisions. I'm transferring to UT-Arlington. Does anyone know how a "not passed" grade usually transfers?

Army and Air Force 2014
I've started reading more about opportunities in Army and Air Force nursing. I've been in the Army National Guard for 6 years and I'm looking to go active. I currently work as a NICU nurse. I've read some posts that talk about dwindling opportunities for nurses in the military. I was wondering about how difficult it would be to get into various fields. I"d be happy with OB, OR, or NICU. My real questions are: Are the two nurse corps still overstaffed? How difficult would it be to get a a particular specialty? Also, where are the initial duty stations for the Air Force? Thanks in advance for any help!

Question about men in labor/delivery and nursery.
I'm in the same position. I live in Oklahoma and the patients seem more receptive to me being there than the staff. One team manager told another male student that he didn't have the right "parts" to work in L&D. On the flip side, two of my 3 patients so far had no problem with me starting Foley's or cervical checks. The other refused to let me enter her room, but it was due to culture. I find the work challenging, especially as a male, but incredibly rewarding. It seems like such an amazing job. I actually look forward to clinicals for once. There are two male L&D nurses in my state and they work at the same hospital. A teacher that I am close to has been very encouraging and suggested that I apply at the same hospital as the other two, as it is the largest for L&D and peds in the state. Hopefully I'll be number 3 soon. If no one will hire me, well, I look forward to leaving this state soon anyway. I left my old career to go back to nursing school, so I intend on following my dreams to the fullest.

OCCC BADNAP 2013
I think the bigger question is how many applications were complete: passing teas, all prereqs, etc

OCCC BADNAP 2013
I find it funny that on the thread for last year's badnap someone was told 67 applications were turned in. When I went and talked to the guy about my app this year he said that 70 were turned in last year, but only 52 started due to incomplete apps or failed teas. Apparently someone on this thread was told that only 20 apps got turned in last year. Regardless of all that, I don't see why it would take more than a week to rank gpa's then send out less than 100 emails. Especially when the emails are standardized.
