see if your recruiter can get a contact at each location for you to speak with. look into the area you want to live. do you want a small town, large city etc. to live in.

Ft. Bragg, given the kinds of units located there is.....interesting. Having been there as an 11 series, I could only imagine what kind of experience a nurse would have.

Stay away from Ft. Bliss: if god wanted to give the world an enema, he'd insert the nozzle there.

hahahah thanks. at this point i am leaning towards fort hood, which i believe is outside austin... i have friends in tx.

Hey there! I graduate in May and will be going in soon after the NCLEX! What were your original assignment choices and when did you find out the above options? My choices are Fort Lewis, WA, Hawaii, and Germany... I've heard Fort Gordon, GA is nice because it's not too far from Atlanta and South Carolina. Fort Hood is a large base and I hear it's not too bad. Fort Bragg has a newer medical center, so that would be cool :) When did you graduate? Congrats!

i graduated december, but was told i couldnt get my actual assignments until i passed boards, so i scrambled to take boards asap, afterwhich i was given the above 4 choices based on availability. the recruiter dangled hawaii and washington in front of me until that point lol. i thought i had to go to a medcen where they offered my icu course guarantee but i guess that is not the case. best of luck!
