Would you assist in abortions?

I am just curious. Would you ever work in an abortion clinic? Would you give pills that would cause an abortion? Thanks

Yes I would...although I don't agree with some of the choices people make, it's not mine to make...I am greatful we have choices....not everyone that has to make a decision to get an abortion was just having wild sex...there are alot of horrible cases of kids being molested and raped that need this to stay a choice.

I thought the original question was WOULD YOU ASSIST IN... and/or work in an abortion clinic. Just the question to be answered.. didn't think this was a debate on the topic of abortion itself.

For all those who would NOT, there are plenty of others who WOULD, so I don't see where the "choice" would be threatened in any way.

Off topic, but I think it's wrong to subject an infant to a painful procedure with real medical risks for cosmetic reasons. I have personally seen a baby almost bleed to death after a routine circ and since then have refused to participate in them. The father was almost as pale as the baby and said he would never have insisted on circumcision if he knew that could happen. A baby in BC actually did die last year from bleeding post circ. I know it isn't common, but the way I see it, why subject a baby to any risks without any real benefits?

Don't want to participate in this but would participate in KILLING babies who are viable ????? Because of the WOMAN's right to CHOOSE???

Sorry the choice should come before killing a viable baby or a baby who feels pain. You can't tell me that these babies don't feel pain as they are murdered!!

I suggest we ALL remember that this is a heated topic. Debate ideas, not people.

As for my own answer to the original question, I would assist in a heartbeat. The greatest danger to our right to choose is not the possibility of having abortion outlawed, but having it become so difficult to obtain from a geographical standpoint that it may as well be illegal. Poor women are most likely to obtain abortions, and are most severely impacted by having fewer clinics available to have one. They may not be able to travel long distances (and in the case of states that require a "waiting period" between counseling and procedure) staying overnight may be impossible.

So yes, I would assist in an abortion to allow another woman the right to make decisions about her own body.

I am with you. I lived in Europe for too long to think that circs are a necessary procedure. I have never seen one and don't intend to. And I practice what I preach. Both of my sons are intact. It sends shivers up my spine to think of putting my sons through that. I do get alot of sh*t for it. Like what are you going to do when they are older and have to have one. Hello, most men in the world are infact not circed and have no problems. So I certainly could not participate in one.

ITA, Nurse Ratched. Couldn't have said it better.

I assume you mean elective abortion for the purpose of birth control. No, I could not assist. Life begins at conception and the baby's life is as important as Mom's. Anyway, it is a misconception that to have an abortion ends all the messiness associated with an unwanted pregnancy. I have known women haunted for years by that action. Life is too precious.

heh. yup... think that goes for me too. This is one issue that gets both sides equally heated, to the point of being nasty. Highly passionate feelings here on both sides. Time for me to step out as well. :)
