11 days, 9 hours til I start L&D on September 5th! I'll be orienting on days til end of october, then on nights for a few weeks (on orientation)

Ya'll, I am really excited. I had my interview and got the job back on July 25th, but had to work out my 30 days notice, plus one extra week to finish out my current schedule. This has been a long time coming, adn now its nearly here! yay!

(and on a totally trivial note, I'll have my very own locker! she told me on the phone today "i got you a locker already, bringa little lock for it" and i'm like "i get my own??" cuz we are 3 to a locker at my current job!)

:D

It's official now-

I went to security to get my "women's and peds" name badge. Same as regular company nametags, but at the bottom, a blue stripe with the words "women's and peds" on it.

Specializes in OB, lactation.

Congrats! I just started L&D about a month or so ago :)

Specializes in Mother-Baby, Antenatal.

I am envious and extremely happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!! I am just a bit behind you ....I start my job on October 9! I will be orienting on days and then training on nights. Trying to get prepared for nights -- been on a bunch of websites etc. I am so excited too -- L&D is why I went into nursing. I will be at the same place I precepted Jan-March 2006. It is the high risk hospital for our region, very hectic but great place to learn a lot.

I feel blessed to enter nursing at a time where we can enter our desired specialty right out of nursing school!

Good luck to you!
