monthy birth rate

Just curious what every one's monthly birth rate is at your hospitals? Our average is 300 a month. This month has been really buzy. As of a couple days ago (10 days left in the month) we all ready had 299 births. Just yesterday we had 23 babies in a 24 hour period. this is a lot for us, even for this time of year. Just wondering if others were having more babies than usual.

We usually do about 4,000-4,500 deliveries a year. We have also been unusually busy this year. I've heard from one of our supervisors that if we continue like we are, we'll break 5,000 this year

Job security I guess, but it sure makes for some crappy, busy, understaffed days. Those figures alones aren't enough to make them break down and give us some extra nurses

We are doing about 500, been busier than usual. Some say its because of 9/11

Yeah, that's what they're saying at my hospital too.

We did 365 in the month of July. I do think it has something to do w/ 9/11.

We do about 30 a month! The most at any facility that I have worked at is about 60 month. Y'all are busy!

Ugh!! I worked at 2 of those 300+ deliveries a month hospitals (that was the NORM), and I am so so so so SO happy to be at a hospital that averages only about 150 a month!!

Ahhhhhhh.................:).

About 100-150 a month... I am currently considering a job offer from a hospital that does about 500-600 a month.

I work where 65-70 are born a mo. I like this. we actually have time to get to know and follow our patients thru labor-delivery-postpartum and then do couplet care w/them. I would not want to work in a huge hospital that does 300+ a mo. I have friends who have(we have many of them in the Seattle area)......they said it was nothing but a cattle call, and came to the community hospital level for that reason . No thanks, sounds like it would not be for me.....

We're delivering between 7800 and 9600 a year (650 to 800 a month), but I'm in antepartum (29 beds) so the only deliveries I see are the sneaky ones and thankfully they are not at all common.:chuckle :roll
