I believe breast feeding would be easier-you could pop the bub on the floor, start feeding, and carrying on making dinner or whatever! :D

Since this came up, how often do you see moms, particularly new moms who are 40+ years.

I guess this isn't that old, especially when compared to fifty with twins, but my mom was 38 when I was born in 1974 - that was considered really old for the time. I have a brother ten years older, too, and it really was like starting over for my mom. Fortunately, she didn't have any complications with the pregnancy or birth and I was a normal (well, some may question that!) and healthy child.

oldest i have had personally was 47 yrs old and a primagravida, she was planning on having 2 more

My cousin had her first baby 3 months short of her 40th birthday, and then another baby 13 months later....She is one tired Mama (the girls are 4 and almost 3) and she is 43. But she is an EXCELLENT mother to those to girls. She has even stated herself that if she would have had the kids 15 or 20 years earlier, she probably wouldn't have been as patient as she is now....and she needs lots of patience....

Oldest we have had is 55, with donated egg.

GOOD grief, she better get off her duff and GET busy! Of course, IVF will take care of it for her, even two or three at a whack! :roll

If I were her I would definately be posting from the CCU folowing MY heart attack (that occured in the OBs office immediately after being told the test results).

Oldest we had was 55, IVF with donated eggs. First time I'd cathed someone with grey pubic hair before their c/sec!!!!!

Oh jeez.....SO nice to know everyone cares...The test strip didn't turn blue so looks like tha answer is no...Weird that I am a little disappointed.......But, now I get to look into the peri menopause factor! Thanks for being so sweet, everyone....I wait until someone is labor is in that phase where nothing you say gets their attention, and then I let them know the ages of the kids....EVERYONE laughs...Wonderful way to establish rapport...Nope, my oldest doesn't mind.....He figured out early on, as a football player and all around nice guy, that babies are babe magnets...And, one day around the menagerie has him totally convinced to delay parenthood until after marriage sometime down the road! By the way, my hubby and I were considered infertile and did not seek treatment.....Must be my last three good eggs and definitely sent from God....My daughter just told me that she wishes she had some pictures of me as a little girl. I suggested she ask gramma to see some at our next visit, and with perfect sincerity she looked up in shock and then actually told me she had no idea they made cameras so long ago...You have to love them....{{{}}} to all of you from an AMA......
