currently there are 58 credit hours required for the accelerated program at a cost of $252.50 per credit hour. Add $100 orientation fee, $140 times 4 for ATI test, add cost of books at $300 times 4 plus CPR course, drug screen police check, uniforms, laboratory kit (roughly $70) and those physicals, medical screens and the "hidden extra credit fees for pathophysiology, nutrition, and pharmacology (another like 8 credits) and the fees go up to like $20,000 for the program.... It is a bargain I guess if you feel cost is the only issue. I warn you that you "only get what you pay for" and education, quality of teaching, facilities etc are no different than any other commodity. Consider driving time, student satisfaction, and other factors too.

Thanks for the information Allto. Cost is important to me because I haven't even started paying for my first degree yet and I know when I'm done with this one, I'll have a bigger bill to pay back. I had also considered U of D Mercy which has a good program too, but I don't think I'd qualify for those alternative loans you have to have, and they're program is costing $60,000, at least thats the information I got when I went to the information meeting and the financial aid advisor told me. So OU's isn't that bad.
I have a friend going through it right now (I start in fall) and she's really enjoying it. She said it's very tough, but she really likes her instructors. In comparison, another student we know chose to go to U of D because she thought it was easier to get into....but she's struggling, and now she has huge debt from student loans (I'm sure experiences vary). I am very pro-OU. I just have appreciated the communication that I've received every since I first applied......and again, I haven't actually started the program yet, but as far as guiding me for pre-reqs and giving me direction, along with the rolling enrollment they presently have....I've been thrilled so far. Just my humble opinion;).

Hi all, I have been accepted to OU starting January of 08. I was wondering if there is anyone who is going through the program now that would like to comment on the program. Is it well organized? Are the instructors good? Do you feel you are getting a good education? I guess I am just a little nervous shelling out all this money, that I want to make sure it is a good school, lol. Thanks!
