Hello all...I am so excited that I was excepted in the OU's accelerated BSN program for Fall 2015. Congrats to all who were sent that wonderful acceptance letter. And to all who are waiting, my hopes are with you. I have been searching this site and I have not seen any posting for fall 2015 ASDN. I know you are out there because 50 of us were sent letters in the last two weeks.
I just looking for some support, and sharing of information, ideas, an future classmates out there. I don't have Facebook...so I can't talk to you there.
I heard the highest gpa was 4.0 and the lowest was 3.5. I hope that was a more acceptable range for more classmates to be accepted.
Has anyone else applied to any other CD2 program...if so which ones? Have you completed all your pre-req's or are just waiting to be called. Have you taking patho and pharm yet or are you taking them this summer for OU. Well my summer is gone...I have to take them both...because I was waiting on the other schools who of do not require those classes prior to admit. And they will notify after OU summer classes start. I just want to be prepare for all the schools...just in case.
I would love to hear from you out there. Even the student who are already in the program...give back some support...that is, if you have time from the books.(smile)
I am so happy I am accepted in OU, and I send out wishes to all of you, because we know how much work it took to get to this point.

Congrats!
Hi Sopranokirs...thank you so much!!
I am new here...but so glad to hear from you. Have you received your letter or are you waiting to hear from your school's program?
Yes I am curious to know why they are eliminating the interview process. At UDM the director had told me the reason they do interviews is because they want to get a feel for the person. I can understand that reason but a person can also be a "pretender" and tell you what you want to here. I think they should still do interviews though. The MSN program is accelerated, 15 months. I had to submit an essay and I had a phone interview since I am out of state.

Congrats on getting into MSN;s program,
I agree angelj11...I too believe that the schools should still do interviews. Why...because at least they would have a visual, of what possibly their schools are putting out there, with the lives of others in their hands...and for the very least, the schools have the responsibility of acting as the middle person, as a school interviewer of candidates to become nurses, by policing their applicants, as best as one can...for the safety of that future patient. Their has to be some types of safe guards put in place.
However, I have another issue with these nursing schools, that seems to show no rhyme or reason, for the length of time that these accelerated BSN second degree nursing programs go about how long they are completed, within all of these different 'completion' amount of time dates. OU's ASDN goes for 12 months; Wayne States CD2 goes for 17 months; and MSN program for 15 months...yet all of the courses pretty much have, in order, the same curriculum's in order to pass the same NCLEX.
Why do you think that there is such a big time frame difference in these similar accelerated BSN programs? Do you believe a longer program gives more wait in numbers, of exactly what schools are passing the state's boards compared to those who are not doing so well, in passing...because of their length of time of their programs?
Today I received an email from a school, (one of my top picks) the subject line read "Congratulations!" I open the email to find they are inviting me to participate in the graduation ceremony for my other degree. Son of a...
Well...Wayne State University, they did it again. I just got notified that the deadline is nearing, June 1, 2014, and because that day falls on a Sunday...they just wanted to seen out a reminder!!!!!!!!
My heart dropped...and I thought...they need to stop doing this. If no one know what the deadline is by now...they don't need to be in a nursing school...right!?.
And then I came to my senses, and felt sorry for the people who are just finishing up their pre-reqs...and then I became respectful of the process...and appreciated their reminder.................but just for moment...............just kidding!!!
But I will add they did state this that, we would be notified in June, and an alternate list will be listed, if there were to be any openings.
Please cross your fingers for me!!!!!

Congrats on getting into Oakland! How did you already get in for the Fall 2015 semester when the deadline for applications isn't until August? Do you mean Fall 2014? I'm anxiously awaiting to hear from them, I applied for Summer 2015. How did they contact you to let you know you got in? I also applied to their traditional BSN program and to Wayne State's accelerated program.
Wayne State University (WSU) is for Fall 2014...and Oakland Unversity (OU) that is the one that I was accepted for, is for Winter 2015, second degree accelerated BSN program...However, I have applied at both colleges for the CD2 accelerated program BSN.
You are probably getting the schools missed up because I have vented my views on both OU site and my WSU site. This site is for OU which I have place my WSU infor on also.
OU notified me by mail in an acceptance letter...and I got in by a telephone interview of a panel of instructors.
Good luck on being accepted! I am now waiting on WSU this month to accept me into their program.

Spartyfan I just got my acceptance in the mail today for the Summer 2015 ASD! I had previously contacted the advisor and she told me all letters would go out by June 6th so you should get something no later than Friday. Good luck!
CONGRATS to you 313Mom...all your hard work is now coming full force...great job.
Congrats 313Mom! I am still anxiously awaiting to hear something. I live in Florida so maybe I'll find out tomorrow since it takes longer for mail to get here. The suspense is killing me! I'm ready to pick up my life and move it back to Michigan, I just need an acceptance letter first!!
Oddly enough the letter was dated 5/28/2014 and it just came today and I live right in Michigan, about 30 minutes away from OU. Go figure.
Oh and thanks! And now comes the wait.
