Oakland Community College Students 2017

Hello, I am looking to start the program in Fall of 2017! I'm looking to meet students and take this journey together and share our experience

I'm at the highland lakes campus right now for class & im so tempted to go to the nursing office and ask them 1000 different questions

@joeleneliddell well we will definitely have to check that out this summer! I always tell him how I hate that I can't go swimming in a lake like I could back home! His parents have a cabin in Brimley (in the sticks by the Sault) so we usually are there a few times in the summer! And at shut down for the 4th.

I am anxiously awaiting 3:30 to check my mail! My boyfriend thinks that even if they were sent out Monday like they said, it could take until tomorrow or Friday at the latest to get them. All I know is if it's not here, I'm taking a sleeping pill tonight so I can sleep late and not have to worry about this. It's killing me!

@bmonica22 do it! Lol. Ask them when the letters were sent out. I'm curious if they'll say something different than what they told me.

I'll know shortly, but I think the school lied. They better have at least sent out the letters today. I will be non-stop calling Monday if I don't have a letter in my hand.

So I spoke with one of the head honchos of USPS- I filed a complaint about a package Sat. because it was delivered to the wrong address and she was following up. So I took the time to ask her about our letters too..

All mail, regardless of if it goes from state to state or house to house within the same city, must go through the processing plant- in our case that would be Pontiac; this is where it gets sorted, stamped, and all mail gets a fluorescent stamp. From there the mail is then sent to the Post Office where our mail carriers trucks are loaded. Mail sent to the Post Office from 3am until the mail runs must go out that day.

I'm willing to bet that OCC did send the mail out and that the Pontiac Processing Plant is running slow.

And apparently, after doing a Google search, there is some drama going on at the Pontiac Processing Plant. I guess 5 people have recently died there (Postal employee deaths at Pontiac facility raise questions).

Well thanks for the update . In this case it is normal not to arrived today . Maybe tomorrow or even Friday .

Good to know @joleneliddell. I checked my mail on my way to work and there wasn't a letter. I'm so annoyed. If they did lie about it, why would they? I mean there is no benefit other than people calling still asking when it's gonna be here because it should be here by now if it went out Monday! I just want my dang letter!
