The wait is almost over! Please post the date you received your letter of acceptance and your GPA (Oakland community college). Does anyone know if the DMC has give OCC another grant this year???
Bri-I think u have a great chance of getting into the accel. program because many people don't want to start right away (because of $ and stuff like that). I heard that last yr the cut off was 3.6 (from a counselor), however, a student also told me that it was 3.8. Which are you appyling for?
I'm on the fence. It would be nice to finish eight months earlier to look for a job before 250 others will. I would have to take pharmacology and fundamentals together. With the standard track I think we can take pharmacology in the summer. I would like to intern at more than the DMC. I know they have a lot of different hospitals but my mother-in-law works at Receiving. What are you planning on doing? Any advice would be great. I do not plan on working either way, so money is not a huge factor. Thank you for your time.
treeguy- GOOD LUCK. Help me represent male nurses
I got my acceptance letter today!!!! I had to go pick it up at the post office and I was jumping around and hugging the post office workers. A lot of hard work and dedication went into getting into the program and I know I am blessed! Looking forward to being a great male nurse.
For the Record:
- My overall GPA was a 3.75 but my nursing GPA (adding the total GPA for only the classes that count as a nursing pre-req) was only a 3.67.
- First time applying for the program
- Not planning on taking the accelerated program. I'm not sure my financial add from my winter FAFSA will kick in till the fall anyways and I need time to relax and travel around the country before I settle down into this big commitment. My family wants me to start now but I do not want to rush this.... just think I should play it smart and re-charge my batteries before I dive into the nursing program.
