Oakland community college 2016 applicants

Published

Hello everyone,,

is is anyone here waiting for their acceptance letter to Oakland community college? Also are there any students here that is currently in the program? I am really pump to get started and is looking for any advice I can receive about the program in general.

Hey Erin, so I asked the lady in the nursing office about starting a Facebook page but she said she doesn't know how that works. I'm assuming it wouldn't be a problem. Also I was lucky enough to run into 2nd year students graduating in April and chatted with them. They told me to stress to you guys that we should prepare to not have a life. Literally all we will be doing is sleeping, eating, breathing, and nursing.. They said it's hard but it will be worth it in the long run

Robert, the lady also told me that the selection process is random. They are only giving preferences to winter start(which upsets me), and once they feel that there are enough people, they will then begin a random process to fill the rest of the winter starts and pick fall applicants.

Tammy more than likely you are in!

I bet you'll receive your acceptance letter today Tammy! If not, I would give the nursing office a call.

Thank you for trying! I called and the lady said she is going to send it through email so I don't have to wait for it to come in the mail.

Is anyone who was accepted coming from the Macomb area? I'm just curious of where everyone is traveling from and if I'm one of the few with a long drive!

I'm from the downriver area which is 20 minutes south of Detroit so I have a far drive too!

I'm in the same shoes as Amanda. I'm from Romulus, it's close to a city called woodhaven. My drive to Highland lake is 45 min

I live in Gibraltar Kelvin! Not too far from you

Oh okay I know that area, I was hoping I wasn't the only one! I had applied to a few different schools and this was the first place that sent out their acceptance letters. Car pooling is always a good idea once we figure out our schedules and such. Can't wait to get our information packets in the mail!

Hey yea I know Gilbraltar! I use to go to my track meets there, back in high school. There's a school called Carlton that my school used to always compete against. Car pooling will be a major help once we get schedules. When we attend the orientation, I will try and see if I can find a few people that also stay downriver.

Definitely not the only one! Yeah once we figure out our schedules hopefully we can plan something out (: I can't wait either! & yeah Kelvin I went to high school at Carlson.
