Hello everyone,
I'm currently applying to NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing as a transfer student. I saw some threads from previous years so I thought I'd make one to see if anyone else is applying ?

I applied and was admitted as a Second Degree Transfer (non-accelerated) student. I have not completed any of the prerequisite coursework yet and will be working towards completing my prereqs both this summer and in the Fall at NYU and then starting the ABSN program in the Spring.
I was thinking about applying to the Second Degree Transfer Program because I want to make a career switch (graduated from NYU with an Economics degree). My biggest concern, however, is my abysmal GPA (2.98...). I don't imagine any nursing school would think twice about tossing my application in the trash, especially since I don't have any medical experience either.
I still have to complete 4 of the prerequisites as I have already taken Nutrition and Statistics. The only thing I could imagine that would give me the slightest chance of getting in is the fact that I am an NYU Alum. So the question is: How likely do you think it is to get into the Second Degree Transfer Program at NYU as an Alum with a horrendous GPA? If it matters, I graduated in 2018 and have been working in Finance ever since.

I haven't heard back either. I'm assuming they get to traditional transfers last ? Based on last years posts I think we will begin to hear back the last week of May
