NYU Transfer Fall 2019

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm currently applying to NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing as a transfer student. I saw some threads from previous years so I thought I'd make one to see if anyone else is applying ?

Hey there! I am also applying to NYU Meyers as a transfer student for the Second Degree Transfer program Fall 2019. Thanks for starting this thread ?

Are you applying for the Second Degree Transfer (linked with the ABSN) or as a traditional transfer student (linked with the traditional 4-year BS)?

Following, I feel like it's so competitive and I am terrified.

I felt that way at first too but after reading through previous year's feeds I feel more confident! They all shared their stats and experience and it really seems like NYU takes the full scope of your application into consideration and admits lots of different kinds of candidates. Not just perfect grades or experience. They also shared that the estimated Spring 2019 acceptance rate was around 60-65% and that they have about 150 students which is a whole lot less scary than I was imagining!

Hope that helps! Try to stay positive ?

Did you apply for the second degree transfer program or the traditional transfer (4 year) program?

I'm applying as a traditional transfer from my local community college in California. I really wanted to apply to NYU since they do holistic admissions and schools here mainly just do a point system.

Hi all!

I am applying to the second degree program. I’m terrified as well especially since this is the only school I applied to. I also applied to College of New Rochelle but now they’re closing down ?. So now it’s either NYU or wait til other schools applications open up again.

Same! I only applied to NYU but mainly because they allow you to do your prereqs there before starting the accelerated program, unlike many other schools, and I haven't started my prereqs yet. But my backup plan, if I don't get accepted, is to just get the prereqs all taken care of and start applying again next year. That might be a good solution for you too if you haven't finished your prereqs.

How many classes do you still have to take? And do you know of any other programs that allow you to apply and complete your prereqs there before starting the ABSN?

After this semester I’ll be done with all my prerequisites. I’m currently taking developmental psych lifespan and statistics at WCC. I’m thinking of applying to CMSV but they want organic chem and I only have inorganic chem, but I think they let you take it at their school. I haven’t heard good things about their program though. I’m also thinking of Dominican College but they also want different prerequisites (biochem and pathophysiology) but I believe they will let you take it at their school as well before the program starts. I think both programs have the traditional track option as well but for Dominican you would have to take the teas for traditional track.

hey everyone

I'm applying for the fall cycle too. I am really nervous though

Don't worry, we're all nervous too ? But it seems like NYU Meyers does a good job of accepting a diverse cohort, taking your application as a whole into consideration (letters of reccomendation, volunteer work, your essay, etc..) We have at the very least a whole 'nother month before hearing anything back so try not to stress too much yet! Haha

Has anyone attended or planning to attend an info session on campus yet?!

Hi everyone, I am applying as a traditional 4-year transfer too! I'm at a community college in California and just finished all my pre-reqs. I'm super nervous but it seems like NYU focuses on more than just grades which is great.
