Members are discussing the hiring process at NYU Langone, sharing experiences with phone screens, interviews, and references. Some express frustration with the website, while others offer advice on navigating the application process and timelines for hiring. Questions about salary offers for new grads and comparisons between hospitals are also brought up.
Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?
Straight to the floor?? My NYU Employee Portal has a list of important dates... on 4/16 , I am attending the New Beginnings Orientation at 9:30am at 1st Park Ave... then 4/17 , the nurse's orientation is taking place at 8:15 with the location TBD ..
Haven't received anything yet but I'll probably stop by the floor today and speak to the manager I'll let you guys know if anything comes up. Last I was told was that I personally will be going straight to the floor
And one more thing--NYP-Methodist in Brooklyn has an externship, but they don't advertise it. You have to go to the recruiting office. Get two letters of recommendation, bring resumes. Maybe call the nursing recruitment before to ask exactly what to bring. But I know they have one and it's pretty much a lock for a job in the fall!
Hey everyone,
I am graduating in May 2018. NYU is my top choice and I did my externship there. I live out of state have the phone screening on 4/20. However, I've received some job offers elsewhere that start at the end of June. Like I said, I would take NYU over everything, but do you all know about how soon I would know if I get the position?? I'm worried because it sounds like it's a long process

It could take a long time. You never really know with NYU. If you did your externship there and you kept in touch with that unit and that's where you want to start, I'd email her about your graduation coming up and how you're interested in the unit. Maybe if that's the case you'd be able to get into a unit faster than other people. If that's not the unit you want ..then I'm not sure. They did a huge hiring spree from Jan-now and they're barely positions available because of that. I'm not sure how long it'll take before a lot of their units are opened again. Sometimes units randomly pop up though. I had my phone screening with her in Nov and just yesterday I got my interview for a unit. But I got my license on Feb 22 to be fair so maybe that's why. Some of these units want your license even before they interview you.

In the policies that we had to review, it said jade green for perioperative RN's. That's what I plan on wearing the first day of orientation, and will ask for further clarification !
