NYU hiring process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?

Hey RNchaANurse,

One of my friends from nursing school just applied to NYU with less than a 3.5 and got a call back for an interview so I don't think GPA is a huge huge part! But as people said above, I don't think they have a lot of open spots, so maybe just keep waiting. I also never got a pass/fail on the assessment so I don't think you ever really hear back about that stuff.

I'm sure you're fine but it definitely sucks to wait!

Hey Brip,

Have you been emailed about any positions? I contacted my recruiter again and she said there were no openings right now and i will be emailed directly when one comes up.

Hey KrisSik9921,

I'm in the same situation as you, when I last spoke to her she said hopefully something will open up after Labor day and I'll be emailed directly! The waiting game is so frustrating but I'm glad we are still hearing similar things. Hopefully this will end up working out for us!

I hope so too!!

hi Im a foriegn RN and now living usa.im still on application process for NYBON. im on f2 visa here. does anyone know is it possible to make H1B visa if i got my RN license in NY???

Thank you

Hey KrisSik9921,

Have you heard anything back from NYU yet ?

Hey Brip,

I still haven't heard anything. I find it hard to believe there are no new grad opportunities. I wonder if I should try contacting a different recruiter or calling HR/Recruitment to ask when most new grad opportunities tend to open up...

Same here! I spoke to my recruiter maybe around 2 weeks ago and I had asked about like other opportunities for new grad because i mentioned that all the other positions posted online for NYU seemed to want experience and so she explained that all new grads that are hired go through the residency so whenever positions open up thats when interviews will resume.

Do you know if this means we should apply to any new job they post even if it says it requires experience/or to just wait to be contacted by a recruiter?

I would say to wait until contacted by a recruiter. I know someone who recently started their orientation and they were offered a NICU position and she mentioned the other nurses who were in the orientation were mostly NICU, L&D- she said there were 3 or less of med surg,ICU.

Hey guys, I figured I'd try and give some input as I was recently hired at NYU Langone as a new grad. When I applied, I submitted an application to all positions they had open, not just ones that specified they were for new grads. As you guys mentioned, every new grad RN goes through the lengthy orientation program regardless of whether or not you applied for it. So my advice to you is to just apply to the positions anyway.

It's great that you guys are in contact with the recruiters. I hope you guys get some good news soon!

Hey Brip,

Did you get an email today by any chance?
