Hey Faces04, did NYU ask you to send in your grades for this semester or are you just referring to your transcripts?

I'm waiting, and waiting some more lol As far as finding an apartment, I already live in the city and I can tell you that unless you have a guarantor, its VERY difficult to try to find a place in the city. I was lucky enough to have a friend that owns buildings help me out so I now live just a few blocks from NYU. My best advice would be DO NOT try to find a place on Craigslist. There are lots of apartment scams here in NYC and apartments go very quickly so try to find a reputible rental company or website that can help you. Many of my friends live in Brooklyn because its A) cheaper than living in NYC and B) you will get more space for your money. Unfortunately cheap period is difficult to come by in NYC let along in a safe neighborhood. If you are able I would recommend coming to NYC to find places that are renting or may have something opening up. That way you'll get a good feel for the different neighborhoods and stuff. Sorry for the rant, but being someone who moved to NYC from Cali a year ago I know how tough it is to find a place here. Hope some of this helped :)

Thanks for the info faces04!! I have looked at the listings at craiglist and I can tell that some of them are scams. I went to NYC last month and tried looking for a place, but since Im not sure I will be accepted it was a bit hard to give a move in date and other details. If you don't mind me asking how much are you paying for your apartment? I will be moving with my fiance so I feel safer having him with me. Do you know if your friend has any apartments for rent? I really don't care about the size of the place, my main concern is the price and location. Keep us updated if you hear from NYU admissions.

Hello!! I applied for the Traditional BSN program, I have my Bachelor's of Science already in a totally different field!

I am soo anxious to find out! I sent in all my paperwork by Oct 1st, and recieved an email/letter around Oct. 17th that they received my paperwork. AHHH!! Anticipation is killing me. Has anyone used the NYUHome access yet?

I finished sending in my application by the November 1st deadline and already, the anticipation is killing me. I've applied as a non-accelerated second degree student (no prerequisites done yet).

Wishing the best for everyone!

lizasanurse, I used the NYUHome access today and was able to see the status of my application.

For some reason it will let me log into the NYU Home page, but then when I try to access the Albert Log In, it wont let me. Where were you able to see your application status?

I was able to log into Albert a few weeks ago, but now it says authorization error. I feel like I wasnt accepted into the school now :( and thats why I cant access it!

lizasanurse: I would refer back to the email you received on October 17th and restart the NetID activation process. If you remember your NetID, you can change/reset your password.

No problem :) My apartment is a few blocks from NYU, its a studio apartment and we (my husband and I) pay $1700 a month. From what I hear that is a steal in the Village. I know studios average about $1900 and up here. Its a very safe and busy neighborhood and I love it, but thats still pricey considering my apartment I left in CA was 2 bedroom and 1000 square feet and only $1350 a month. My friend is actually not the one who owns the apartment building he owns other buildings, but his friend helped us out because he owed him a favor and we were desperate so unfortunately that wouldn't be somewhere I could help you :/ Once you get in though I'd be happy to help you look for place by giving advice on where is safe, etc. I haven't heard anything from NYU except that my application is being processed, the suspense continues! :uhoh3:

I've used it, you can see your application status because there is a bar on the left close to the top that says "appplication status" and when you click on it it will pull up a checklist of everything they have received from you. If something is not clicked and you know you sent it then email them. I noticed that none of my transcripts were clicked as having been received and it was all because the schools sent them in my maiden name without any other identifiable info which means had I not checked NYU would not have processed my app because they would've thought that those transcripts belonged to someone else! So check and double check that app status.

Also if you are having problems accessing Albert its most likely you have the wrong log in or did something wrong with you password, if that doesn't work email them and they'll get back to you pretty quickly.

Good luck everyone, let us know when you all hear!!:)

I thought that if you already had a degree in another field you were not able to apply to the traditional program and could only be considered for the ABSN? At least this is what I was told last year at the Open House, did they change that? If so thats awesome because I know the accelerated won't work for everyone for a variety of reasons. Good luck to you! :)

That was information I was not aware of...I studied the website very thoroughly, they must have changed their policies...
