Hi all. I'm starting a forum for NYU Spring 2021. I know the application goes live soon so might as well make one now.
I applied for Fall 2020 but didn't get in so I'm applying for the second time. Good luck to us all!

I understand if there’s wrong information given to the students. But I didn’t make it up or something.
I scrolled back a bit and I think you’re being confused with another Sara. She’s replied “LOL” when someone said they were accepted. Just my thoughts

Possibly. I just felt bad because the person who was accepted responded to a Sarah Jiang (not sure if I connected the right username) and said: "haha IDK what to say... I’m sorry they told you the wrong information. If you want to private message me I could show you the email / acceptance." They don't have to show their acceptance to anyone. It is no shocker that NYU misled others in this forum.
Point is, I would like for all of us to continue to support each other as we get accepted.
That is all. Best of luck to everyone. I hope we find out more acceptances throughout the week! ?
@sigtime thank you so much ?! I really appreciate it! (congrats on getting into another program!!) It did feel like people didn't believe me but you're right, I don't owe any one an explanation (and why would I even lie about it). I only made this account after getting my acceptance in hopes of helping others / letting people know that acceptances were going out. nonetheless, I do hope everyone gets in! NYU is known for accepting a bigger cohort compared to other programs.
I'm not sure if anyone cares but maybe this will help someone in the future. I started my personal statement last year and had multiple people & profs look over / edit it. I do feel like my personal statement was strong and did help me make up for the lack of experience and some of the B's I got. I asked for my LORs last year as well. I told my profs that application wouldn't start till months later but it was completed early and I feel like they might have expressed how I asked for it months in advance so maybe that helped.
Also my friend is currently in the program and she said they already announced that next semester will be virtual as well. I'm not sure if this will affect anyone's decision. this was her first semester and her schedule is two online lectures (mon/wed) and clinical/stimulation were 4 hours on thurs/fri.
good luck to everyone & crossing my fingers that you guys get your acceptances this week !!

my financial aid came with the acceptance. the cost of attendance is close to 40k per semester. but thats including room and board, textbooks and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses. if you just wanted to look at tuition is around 27.5k per semester. I do qualify for federal pell grant and I got a scholarship. and they did offer the federal subsidized / unsubsidized loans and work study. but other than all that the cost out of pocket is still expensive

How much they usually give scholarship?

That's awesome! Did you apply to a specific scholarship? Or was it just granted to you?

Sorry, one more question. Did you fill out a CSS profile? Is that required?

That's exciting, a scholarship! You must be ecstatic. Dear Lord, please let them accept me and give me something as well ?
