NYU ABSN Spring 2021

Hi all. I'm starting a forum for NYU Spring 2021. I know the application goes live soon so might as well make one now.

I applied for Fall 2020 but didn't get in so I'm applying for the second time. Good luck to us all!

So I checked again and the checklist is back up so I'm just hoping for the best now cause everything just seems random.

Hey guys! Deadline is October 15th, but is there is anyone who still has not submitted and is working on finalizing/submitting their application? This is the first ABSN program I am applying to, waiting on my last recc letter and finalizing my personal statement.. Submitting days before the due date, do you think this decreases chances of getting in? Any thoughts on this?

I haven’t submitted yet, I’m also waiting on one more rec letter. I’ll probably submit over the weekend and hope for the best. Hopefully it doesn’t decrease the chances, as long as we submit it by the due date.

Same here! My friend is in the program at NYU right now and she applied way before the deadline. But people told her that they applied right before the deadline and they got accepted before her. So I don't think it matters so much when you submit it.

Hey, I applied last cycle, and was waitlisted. The allnurses forum was a mixed bag at that point. Some applied the day before the deadline, and were amongst the first few to find out that they were accepted. Some applied before the priority deadline and found out nearly just a few days before waitlisted people found out. Waitlisted people were the last to find out.

Does anyone know or has heard of how NYU responds to pre-reqs that have been taken more than once? I had to retake A&P 1, took the class while taking other pretty hard courses all in one semester and couldn't keep up at the time, ended up taking it once more. I know certain programs are very strict with not accepting pre-reqs if you did not receive the required grade the first time you took the class.. I know that nyu definitely accepts it, but has anyone heard of this being an issue or if it does impact chances of getting in?

@lyd116 I contacted them before I applied and they said they accept the highest score even if you retook the course! :)

Hey everyone! Waiting last minute probably wasn't a great idea... Was about to submit when I realized my transcripts said "Not Arrived" when I sent them about a month ago and both of these institutions gave me confirmation emails that someone from admissions viewed them... However, on the Common App it says the exact opposite. I'm also wondering if you guys know if I can still submit the application despite the transcripts and it will resolve in the next couple of days because I just want to be able to open the portal! You can submit it even though it says that. I had the same problem so I asked NYU and they said just submit your application on the Common app and email us your unofficial transcript. They said we just haven’t put everything in the system yet thats why it says that on the Common app. Hopefully they will soon though!

I've just submitted my application to NYU. This is the first college I submit & I’m Super nervous, does anyone know around when we start hearing back from them about acceptance? I’m already having anxiety from the wait
