NYU ABSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook

I'm trying to decide whether I should apply for Spring or Fall 2019. The last prerequisite I have to take is Micro which I plan on taking Fall 2018. Should I go ahead and apply or wait until after I've completed micro?? I don't necessarily why to take prerequisites at NYU because of the cost. Thanks I'm advance!

Hey there - if you want to apply for Spring ... many people have applied w/o finishing their pre-requisites. It is very common for nursing in general. Those are two very different time frames! If it is a pre-req timing issue, don't worry. You will have all but one completed and then you can pursue Micro in Fall 2018.

I am applying with one pre-requisite unfinished and do not anticipate that being the deal breaker.

Good luck!

Ahh I am so excited to be applying for this program once the app opens next week =)

Wishing the best of luck to you all!!!

Hey does anyone know or have good ideas as to how they are going to pay for the program? It's like 100k with just tuition alone!!! I don't have any previous debt from my first degree and even managed to earn a LPN degree and have been working for 2+ years. I'm freaking out about the cost of program. I believe you cannot get federal aid for a second bachelor degrees. You would have to turn to private loans with interest rates increasing the debt. I hoping I can qualify for a loan forgiveness, scholarships, and grants, but none of those options are guaranteed. I might still be left with a substantial amount of debt.

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone is applying with a 2 credit course in Nutrition? I've read in previous years forum that people were accepted with 2 credits, but I emailed the school and they said that is not the case and it must be 3 credits. Very confused and not sure what to do.

I'm applying for spring 2019! For the tradiontionl nursing not accelerated. I was wondering what class people are taking to fulfill the text and core prerequisite course

Did you already complete the course? I would listen to the school, assuming you explained everything already. I once had to retake a course (for a different program) due to this same issue.

Hello everyone!!! I am so glad there's a thread for the NYU ABSN Spring 2019 cohort!! I'm new to using forums

I have some questions guys :woot:

I saw somewhere that we can send maximum 3 recommendation letters (even on the website it says 1-2). Would it make me seem snobby if I sent 3? and also, if I plan on applying even before the priority, will I get an answer before January?

Thank you!! And good luck to all!!

It's not rolling admissions so they don't review any applications until after the deadlines.

And everyone should hear back before January, because that's when the program starts!

As for the letters, I think they technically allow one in each category (professional, academic, personal). They probably say 1-2 on the website because they don't want to read as much lol. I would pick the two *strongest* letters that you have!

Hope this helps =)

Yesss!! Thank you! This helps a lot!!

Hello everyone,

I'm starting my application for the Spring 2019 cohort as well. I applied for Fall 2018 and NYU used Albert for their application. But this year the link is directing me to Common Application. Did they change it this semester?

Hello! I think they did because I've read past forums and everyone mentioned Albert. But this time, they're using common Application
