Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I was curious if anyone was applying to NYU ABSN program for the Spring of 2018! I have a Bachelors of Art in Communication with a business emphasis; I am currently taking prerequisites and applying this summer.

Hi everyone I just found this thread, I was accepted into the program on Oct. 27th and I've already accepted the offer. I can't wait to meet you all!

hey! what steps did you take after paying the deposit?

So not much, im trying to figure out how to set up the NYU email but i havent received a notification on how to do that yet. How about you?

i haven't gotten any email for anything besides RSVP'ing for an orientation

Congrats on your acceptances! Do you mind posting the credentials you had going in? GPA, prereq grades, experience, application date, etc? I'm getting nervous :'(

So my undergraduate GPA was very low, around a 2.85. I received a bachelors in russian literature and the grades i received in the pre reqs are:

A&P I: first time i took it i got a C+ and retook it for a B+.

APII: C then retook for a B

Micro: B+ (lecture) B lab

Statistics: A+

Chem 1: B-

I'm currently taking Nutrition and Lifespan and expecting to get an A in both.

My grades aren't the best but I have a lot of experience in the field as an EMT and currently a medical/surgical assistant. I also got two letters of rec, one from a doctor i work for and another from my AP professor.

I also sent in my application sometime in august for priority. So don't get down on yourself! If i can do it so can you.

I have a BS in Bio and a GPA around 3.4 but I had to take 3 pre reqs from a different college and the nutrition class online so i'm not sure if they added those classes to my whole gpa.

A&P I and II : B & A

Micro B+

Stats A

Nutriton A

Dev psych A

Chem B+

I volunteered at Lenox hill, worked at a summer camp in the infirmary for 2 summers along with nurses and Ive worked full time at a dental office the past 1.5 years.

I honestly didn't expect the decision letter so soon, from what I understood I though we would start getting them around mid-november. I really think they look at the applications holistically and I wouldnt worry about not getting a decison letter yet. It's also a very expensive program and I feel many people will decline offers due to the price tag. I have yet to figure out how im going to finance this investment :( Anyways, Good luck to you all:))

hey i'm curious as to whether your nutrition class was 2 credits or 3?

So it rounds to 1-2 pages for the personal statement? My personal statement is 500 words and it extended to the second page, that's okay right? So nervous about thatttttt :(

It was a 3 credit course

mine was only 2 but they accepted me, do you think it will be a problem? i'm so worried that they'll take back my acceptance í ½í¸©

What I did was I emailed them with the course info and description before registering and they approved the course before I signed up. Just to not worry about it it's better to ask them. They also made me send them an unofficial transcript to make sure I am for sure registered. I know some nursing nutrition courses are just 2 credits but different schools have different expectations.

My personal statement ended up being 700 words just because I honestly couldn't make it shorter. In reality just 200 words is not that much more, I wouldn't worry about it:)
