Thank you! I submitted by deposit for NYU because I won't be hearing back from my other schools until May/June unfortunately.. Rochester is my other top school and its a shorter program and a little bit cheaper so I'm not sure what to do if I get in there.

Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats? And any experience?

And most importantly CONGRATULATIONS!!

hi everyone! I heard back from NYU last Friday (04/03) and was accepted. Very excited, but anxious to see my financial aid package. Has anyone else who has been accepted gotten any updates regarding aid?

Specializes in nursing.

yes! I applied back in late Oct/early Nov.

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share some information regarding the tight turn around between acceptance/financial aid offers/deadline for accepting/declining the offer. The financial aid office seems to be delayed with financial aid packages, so we may not receive them in time to make a decision within 2 weeks of acceptance, but if you e-mail [email protected] and explain the situation, they will provide you with a form that will allow you to request an extension on accepting/declining the offer. Hope this info helps someone who isn't eager to pay the deposit without knowing their financial aid first!

Also, for those of you curious about stats:

Undergrad: NYU CAS, Chemistry major, math minor, 3.199 GPA

Pre-reqs:

Nutrition (Hunter College) A

Stats (Hunter College) A+

Intro to Psych (Hunter College) A+

Anatomy & Physiology I (Hunter College) A-

Anatomy & Physiology II (Hunter College) A

Development Psychology (Online - BMCC) A

Microbiology (BMCC) A

I also have about 4 years of clinical research experience working at a cancer center in the city.

Good luck to everyone and CONGRATS to those who heard back! ?

Hi,

I hope all is well with everyone. I applied in September and actually only heard back today! I got accepted, so please don't be discouraged about the wait. It really is a waiting game.

For those who are going to ask:

AP1: C

AP2: A-

Nutrition: A

Chem: B-

Chem Lab: B+

Statistics: B-

Microbiology: in progress... A

Lifespan Development: A

Undergraduate GPA: 3.4

As far as history, I did an overseas mission 2 years ago in Fiji for 2 months, where I focused a lot on Public Health and Health Education, I volunteer at my local hospital and I've been an EMT-B for about a year now. I have experience as a nutritional/holistic coach, and I graduated with a Community Health Degree from a school in New York in December of 2019. I had 3 recommendation letters: 1. ER Nurse (I shadowed), 2. Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Director (Where I work), 3. EMT-B (Instructor). My essay focused on how I became the person I am now, not what I've done and I think that is important. They want to know WHO YOU ARE and WHY YOU BECAME WHO YOU ARE and WHY THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO BE A NURSE.

It is important to remember that it is on God's time!! Do not feel discouraged. Don't beat yourself up. Remember Godspeed for everyone and we will all be nurses one day. I got rejected from Stony Brook, and Downstate. We all have such beautiful stories, so embrace the journey and believe in yourself and what the universe has in store for you. I'm wishing you all the best and again, Godspeed!
