NYU ABSN Fall 2018

Published

Hello all,

I decided to start a thread for the NYU accelerated nursing program since I have not seen one for fall 2018:)

In regards to your first point, I do not think that is quite accurate. I received a financial aid summary despite already having another BS degree.

I think he means that folks who already have a bachelor's degree are not eligible for NYU scholarships, but will receive a financial aid summary breaking down what federal aid they are eligible for as well as what costs are approved for private loans?

I am still waiting for my financial aid summary, but I expect it to include eligibility for some federal loans, and I am elsewhere been approved for a tiny federal grant, but I was also under the impression that I will not get any type of scholarship aid from NYU.

If you guys were awarded scholarships or aid aside from loans in this summary, then congrats! and maybe there is still hope for me

So, it looks like the average cost per semester is almost $38,000 (including room, board, fees, tuition, etc.). There are four semesters to this program, correct? Meaning, the total cost of the program would be around $152,000?

That amount is absurd. I need to research the different types of student loans out there. There are student loans specifically for nurses such as the discover student loan for health professions, but that is just one of many.

Has anyone heard today?

Has anyone heard today?

Nope. I think decisions will be sent out every tuesday

Yeah I heard back yesterday!

I got my acceptance letter and will be attending the orientation for new nursing students on 5/16! anyone else?

nurses qualify for loan forgiveness, typically once you work as an RN the hospital has tuition reimbursement so you don't even pay for your masters and lastly with the salary you make you can easily make you payments

Would you mind sharing what loan forgiveness programs you know of aside from Nurse Corps?

Has anyone else applied for priority and have not heard back yet?

Yes, I applied on 2/21 and have yet to hear back. I'm becoming really disheartened about my chances of being accepted at this point.
