NYU ABSN Fall 2018

Published

Hello all,

I decided to start a thread for the NYU accelerated nursing program since I have not seen one for fall 2018:)

Upon reading previous posts, it seems as though they release decisions each week in waves. Last week the first wave was given out on Thursday. So I'm just hoping that maybe it will be released the same day for this week.

I applied in October and haven't heard back yet :(

OMG!That's really a long time.

Is anyone planning to go the first open house? I would love to connect with my future classmates :)...

My application date was 12/20/17. Undergrad my GPA was 3.11, but with all pre-requisites gpa 3.2. GPA for just pre-reqs 3.35. Working in cancer research for 3 years, well known MDs wrote recommendations. I'm freaking out that I haven't hear back yet and I applied so early

I am worried too. I applied before the priority deadline so I was hoping I'd hear sooner.

I am in the similar situation. My BS degree GPA is 3.338. I am in the massage therapy program at Queensborough CC now,and the GPA is 3.4. I am finish micro and Develpmental psych in 2018 spring. My pre requirements GPA is around 3.3. I got two recommendation letters. One is from my chemistry professor, the other one is from my pathology professor. I think my application is not pretty strong and seems like just fulfill the NYU application requirements. I think people who received their accpentance from the first wave of acceptance releasing should have really strong.

applications.

I applied March 29... Kinda late but yeah. I have a cumulative GPA of ~3.26 (BS in biology; in my last quarter) and a prerequisite GPA of ~3.6; finishing developmental psychology at the moment. I had 3 letter of recommendations: 1 from a professor I had multiple classes with, another professor (anatomy) who is also my research advisor and boss, then my last one is from my EMT instructor. I dont have a lot of healthcare experience but I interned at a doctors office (~100+ hours), volunteered in the ED and have my EMT training. I want to believe that my application is strong, and im hoping the the admission sees it that way....

Hello guys! I remember when I applied I was on this blog as well searching for answers! I started the program this spring so in 2 weeks ill be done with my first semester. If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to send a message or respond to this.

Just wondering if you're comfortable sharing stats, what were yours for acceptance?

3.2 overall gpa, 3.4/3.5 science gpa. graduated with a bachelor in health science (doesn't really matter) . i have work and volunteer experience in the health field. I wrote a good personal statement.

Hello chabrown,

Thank you for sharing your credentials. I was just wondering, do you know if any applicants got admitted without any prior healthcare experience? If so, do you think a majority of your classmates had healthcare experience previously?
