NYS New Grads waiting on ATT

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello! I just graduated this December with my BSN from TN but I am originally from NYC so I have applied for my NYS license. Has anyone submitted their paperwork to the state and received an ATT? I was advised that all my paperwork was received as on Jan 13. I am wondering how long after that date should I expect my ATT? Then how long after taking the NCLEX do you get your license. Will NYC hospitals accept you with you license number from the BON or do I need to wait for the paper license in the mail?

It took six days from the day I took the NCLEX for my license to post. Then the following week I received the license in the mail. Good luck!

Oh nice! It has been longer than 6 days for me. I took the exam June 22nd. I guess I'll give it another week before reaching out to them directly.! Thank you and Goodluck with everything! ?

hi guys!

I sent my documents to CGFNS who sent them directly to NYSED. I started an application with NYSED then, but I was wondering where will I receive my ATT, in case my documents are accepted?

will I receive it by email?

Thank you so much ?

Hi! I received my ATT about 3 weeks after NYSED received my transcripts sent from my nursing school (out of state from Georgia). I think it would have taken longer, but I called (and waited for almost an hour on hold) to get an update on my progress and the woman on the phone confirmed my file right there on the spot and I received my ATT 10 minutes later. I'd give this a try & just be super patient and nice with them! Hope this helps.

I was wondering what number did you call?

I'm not sure what it was called but my school suggested we all pay the fee to NY that accelerates getting your ATT.  Without paying it, it can take up to about 4 months.

Time frame also matters. There's a higher amount of graduates in and around Spring months, so Winter graduates can usually get their number in 4-6 weeks.
