I dont have CNA or Extern experience, however I also recently applied to their volunteer opportunity ,,,, Do you think i can apply again to another opening not this one because they told me that no further action is necessary at the moment ?What do you suggest ??/ oh yes until when I'm consider a new grad ?? eg. I graduated in may 2013... 6months now and licensed on July ... Thank you again KIKI1984

Thank you again KIKI1984[/quote']No I did not apply in Oct 15th. I think you have high chances of being selected if you have cna or externship experience. I emailed one of the recruiters and she responded back and said the new grad opportunity is very competitive and they prefer candidates who graduated from Columbia university and did their clinical at the hospital. But I'm sure most of the people who were selected did not match those criteria so at the end of the day it has to be your luck. I think it's a good idea that you applied to their volunteer opportunity at least that will get your foot at the door. And yes you are considered a new grad if you have graduated and have not worked or have no experience as RN. My suggestion to you is to keep applying because you really never know.

Xdoublejx91 13 Posts Nov 13, 2013 I had a phone interview about 2 weeks ago and had an in person interview lat Wednesday with the recruiter. They said they are opening up more positions for new grads at the end of the month so maybe u guys will hear then. I found out thy are already checking my references which is great!

kfeastRN 38 Posts Apr 25, 2014 Hey NycRN92! Sry i cant PM yet... I'm hoping that we hear back from them soon!! NYP is my #1 hospital and i would pretyy much take anything they offered me lol its weird that they posted it as a "new" program bc from the other past threads it looks like people got that same email--but some also said they did get a call for an interview so there is hope for us! Hopefully we hear something soon from them bc idk how much longer i can wait! Keep me updated if you hear anything and ill do the same! Best of Luck!!

kfeastRN 38 Posts Apr 25, 2014 i attended a meet and greet in early dec. 2013 and I am still waiting..they said there is a possible new grad program starting novemberish that they are keeping my resume on file for. it is definitely a waiting game!
