NYC Travel Nursing

Published

I wanted to get some advice on a first time travel nursing position in NYC. I have two years of experience in Med/Surg -tele and I spoke with an American Mobile recruiter who quoted a base pay of 27/hr and $2000 stipend per month. I lived in NY so that's pretty much what my friends are making as staff nurses or working with agencies. I also received the same quote from Cross Country. Are there any other agencies that someone would suggest.

For this first assignment, I wanted to get the experience and I also have a place to stay.

I'm wondering if there are any other agencies that staff in NYC that I could be speaking with

Thank you!

Fastaff has a contract with Montefiore in the Bronx. Consider contacting them!

Cross Country, White Glove.

Specializes in They know this too!.

Indeed certainly has a bunch if you do a search. Some you have to go directly into the office. It seems most are in the Garment District.

I would not recommend Fastaff or White Glove. Just from my experience. AMN has most of the larger hospital contracts. Although you can certainly apply to another agency and AMN will screen you.

any specifics as to why you wouldn't recommend White Glove?

I work for Fastaff. No issues except some limitations of where you can go. For example, I want to go to NC, but they don't have many contracts there. Otherwise, no complaints.

I wouldn't go to white glove because I feel that they are too pushy. They expect to accept an assignment that im not willing to do and I feel like they kept harassing me through emails and phone calls to do the assignment when I clearly said no. Then I wad offered a full time position from a hospital and the lady made it seem like the hospital offer wasnt true and that theu can always rescind on their offer and I will always need their agency. I said thank u but no thnk u I no longer need or want your services.
