NYC Hosopitals that hire new A.A.S. degree RNs????

Published

Hello everyone,

Although I'm not new to the forum this will be my first post. I am a nursing student in an associates program in NY and I'm trying to get a headstart on my job search. I have 2 more semsters to go and should graduate by Jan '09, (God willing). I have started looking at hospitals in NYC and the ones that I've looked at want bachelors prepared nurses. Does anyone one know of any hospitals, preferably in NYC, that will hire associates nurses brand spankin' new?

(i live in the city and have a toddler so I would really like to stay local)

Thank you all for your help

:welcome: We're glad to have you!

Went ahead and moved your thread to the NY forum since it is specific to that one location.

What is going on now as far as hiring can change considerably even six months from now, so would not even begin to start looking or even thinking about that at this time.

But one strong bit of advice that I can give you is to take and pass the NCLEX exam before starting to apply for positions, that will give you a headstart over others.

And if you can, take a job as a student extern or something similar in your last semester at least if you can, that gives the hospital that you could be interested in a chance to see how you do work and be more receptive to hiring you when you are ready to start your new role.

Best of luck to you.
