I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

There's a lawyer that has a specialty on suing schools and these types of problems. Besides there's a lawsuit already going on for this

I tested through Florida I am waiting for my endorsement which should be due next month in November
@Melcito23 You passed the Nxclex in Florida. That's great! Congrats!
I meant NCLEX. sorry
Lady_Grace said:yes it was closed 2015 but it was accredited. It was a voluntary closed not a force shutdown.
QuoteDade Medical College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and is a member of the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges, where our school's CEO, Mr. Ernesto Perez, Jr. serves as a Board Member.
It was not accredited by a programmatic accreditor like the NLN ACEN. Florida now requires a nursing program accreditation. What were the NCLEX passing scores like?
Where are you applying for your license?

So you are saying these RNs went to school in New Jersey, got their ATT for NJ. Passed NCLEX and got their NJ professional nurse license. Did they then apply for reciprocity in NY? What state are they working in?

No they went to school in New Jersey some schools in NJ in order to graduate you must pass an exit exam which is equivalent to the NCLEX RN. If they don't pass the school denies them graduation therefore their paperwork never gets sent to the BON. Some people never graduated but still working to this day they have an active license in New York. They could not do it in New Jersey why I wonder

No, The exit exam is not equivalent to the NCLEX-RN. It is a 'predictor' of success for the individual but it just predicts the student's knowledge at that point is similar to a knowledge base for passing NCLEX according to the studies they have done on their test. You can pass an exit exam and fail NCLEX, and you can fail an exit exam and pass NCLEX but the school of nursing HAS to send in the info for the student to get an ATT. Can you not graduate and take NCLEX? Can someone just apply to a State BON and say "I want to take NCLEX?" Someone is pulling your leg, I think.

I'm saying what I know for a fact I am not going into detail. I would love to know how and why this is possible. To this day those people are working
This is true what this person is saying. What was happening was when you didn't pass the exit exam the school would put withdraw on your file so that meant you could not graduate with a diploma. Then those students would go to Florida and do a Review for the weekend pass a few exams and there name would be sent to the Board to get there Att. NY never said send your Diploma they just ask for your transcripts and these schools in Florida would take you if you were in your last semester or failed the exit exam . Then give you there transcripts from the new school as long as you could prove you went to a prior nursing school. Then you would recieve a diploma from the new school many many people were doing this. So the person who wrote above is totally correct what they are saying.

That is not what she is saying, she said they never went to a florida school at all, they just got an att# which doesn't make sense. A school has to send there transcripts for completion.

@Darp7288 There were people from Helen Flud school in NY doing that same thing and other schools. They bypassed the system and NYBON let them keep an active license instead of putting a hold until further notice. They basically helping the criminals get away with fraud
